I understand and support the message of the video. Yes all women deserve equal rights to men and vice versa. But I have to be honest, the way they try to present the message is really lost on me. For example “a man can go out with other women without being judged but not vies versa”. (I’m paraphrasing but that’s roughly what u said), not entirely true, If a man is dating one women and is seen hanging out with another, then immediately that’s a red flag for some people. Even if they are old friends, then the man gets demonised by some even his current girlfriend. TL;DR good message but bad presentation.
I support and stand by all the things you are trying to convey. But dont you think that for the video to be effective, it should have been filmed in Hindi. Because mostly the women which are oppressed/suppressed, are illiterate and come from rural areas. I dont think your message is clear to those women. Only a handful of urban women are able to comprehend your views ,which is not sufficient. If your target is empowering only the Young Urban women population, then its ok. But most cases of women oplression does not come from the urban part of india. It is the societal structure in the rural areas which contribute to a majority of these incidents.
Hello, Zeeshan. We agree with your opinion that a large part of oppression/suppression comes from rural India. There are two reasons that we chose to make this video in English: First, there is a low rate of Internet penetration in rural India. People struggle to find basic amenities such as Food, Water, and Shelter. Thus, making the video in Hindi would not have guaranteed reaching women in rural areas. Second, the video is primarily targeted towards women in urban areas. Urban women could understand the essence of the idea conveyed and take the initiative to spread the message across Urban and Rural areas. That said, we will consider the idea of making videos in Hindi.
Lol your face
