As the photo shows, the broom was not black; also it was just a broom. The broom that blew up was an elaborate rig that didn't work as expected. Miss Hamilton was never hospitalized. Betty Danko, her stunt double, was, but as a stunt woman, that was nothing new to her. The Internet is really not a good source for movie trivia; where this movie is concerned, the best sources are the books "The Making of The Wizard of Oz" (1977) by Aljean Harmetz with an introduction by Margaret Hamilton, "The Wizard of Oz: The Official 50th Anniversary Pictorial History" (1989) by John Fricke, Jay Scarfone, and William Stillman with an introduction by Jack Haley, Jr., and "The Road to Oz: The Evolution, Creation, and Legacy of a Motion Picture Masterpiece" (2019) by Scarfone and Stillman.

Well, teach me. If you mean that not knowing every single meaning in English makes you right, then yes, it is not my native language. If you are referring to it as a cult movie classic, well, that is what others have said about it. It's not that I particularly like it, but it was a groundbreaking film.
No, it wasn’t Margaret Hamilton, it was her stunt double, and it didn’t snap, the smoke machine on the end exploded.

Marlene is fabulously beautiful and modern compared to her pervious roles in the early 30's .... she's so chic and glamorous.... very sexy and Gary Cooper incredibly sauve to say the least 😊

My favorite of Marlene Dietrich's 1930's movies ....her chemistry with Gary Cooper is awesome . Love the clothes and art deco theme through the film .Well acted and beautiful song too ..AWAKE IN A DREAM !!❤
I think Loretta Young, loved Clark Gable,till the day she died, she didn't have the freedom to say she had a child by him till almost the end of her life.

A lovely Christmas movie a classic
No I wasn't aware that they had doubles do the ice skating stunts but I'm not surprised either. Carry Grant and Loretta Young were top star's so I would expect that they would use doubles, because if one of them got hurt doing the stunts it would put the making of the movie on hold until whoever got hurt was able to perform again. By the way I watch this movie every Christmas 🎄 it's one of my favorites!!!

YEAH, I agree but in 1936 she was nominated for the film Becky Sharp and I think she nailed it and was great in it. If you take it in general then yeah your choice would make sense.

@antonmarino6568 Yes, I have seen 'Come September.' I enjoyed it, but I felt it followed the 'Happily Ever After' formula. With her and Rock Hudson, I believe it had the potential to be much better in every aspect. In my opinion, the film could have benefited from a deeper focus on their relationship and development, rather than relying too much on romantic mishmash. Nevertheless, it was a relaxing comedy.
Greer was very clever with her responses. Seeing Orion Welles is a delightful bonus.
Nowadays guessing the gender would take at least half of the show 😂
One of my favorite Xmas movies that you can watch any day of the year to recapture that holiday spirit of goodwill towards us all. The cast had great chemistry. Loretta Young was exceptionally understated and beautiful - even though the film revolves around her. Cary Grant is the angel with just a little touch of romantic naughty, and David Niven steals every scene with his perfect comedy timing of frustration and hopefulness. A classic movie during the golden age of Hollywood. That's entertainment!

Well, I agree in a way... not that I´m any expert on it, but I think it is more that you use your voice differently when you are acting in a film as opposed to the stage performance.
I was too young to appreciate her wit/humor and smarts back in the day, but I sure do appreciate it all now as an adult. She was amazing!
Greer Garson had a smoldering, sultry voice, and what a beauty
Back in the day when TV had MUCH more class. As did the celebrities at the time. Our family always watched this show. It had some slightly different format aspects when first starting out. They had what is nicknamed the "Walk of Shame" where the guest (not mystery guests, but regular ones) paraded in front of the panelists. Sometimes panelists asked them to turn around or show them their hands or something. And they originally had each panelist make a free guess before starting the questioning. Often the panelists made guesses trying to be "funny." These timewasters were dropped in a perfunctory manner early on. And the show was then in perfect tune for a lot of years.
Joan Bennett was a natural Blonde and she was so taken, as audiences and other actress's of that period were envious of Hedy's beauty, that she dyed her hair black which revived her slipping career at the time. Of course, it so happened that Joan was married to Walter Wanger at that time, who made Hedy famous by putting her in her first American film, "Algiers". Joan was the American version of Hedy in mostly "B" movies.
It is the Best Movie ever! Love Scarlett, Rhett and that Southern way of life. Beautiful!

Once again if you don't like editing you can watch Full episode on WML Channel (She was there twice). And to answer your question if there would be no editing what's even the point of posting it. It would be exactly the same video as IT IS on WML TH-cam Channel plus I combined two episodes. But thanks for your response 👍
@@mariariecka --The trouble with YOUR editing is that nothing is continuous! You go back and forth between two different WML shows and keep cutting up questions and responses to those questions. It is NOT enjoyable to watch AT ALL! I DID go back and watch one of the full episodes for the MG portion, and it was delightful and funny! Your version just got on my nerves so much that I had to stop. Just WHAT is your purpose for going back and forth and interrupting questions and answers?
@@marka1422 Your point is noted. But that´s why I wrote you should go to the WML Channel and enjoy it there. This video was meant for a different direction plus it is one of the earliest videos I did so we learn every time something. If you don´t like it it is absolutely okay with me. But thanks for your response... next time I can improve something.

you can fast forward to 1/3 of the way into the video to actual hear her. You're welcome. Also it keeps cutting between two different videos back and forth. I'm going to have to peace out of here. This is maddening.

In this day & age this would be totally unwoke. They would have been accused of all sorts of gender issues. So sad it has come to this right now when God made male & female.
