Welcome to the channel! Follow along as I document the ownership of my small collection of cars. A 1999 SAAB 9-3 convertible, 1999 SAAB 9-5 wagon, 2002 SAAB 9-3 5 - Door, 2010 Chevrolet Impala, 2006 Mercedes - Benz CLK 500 convertible, and a 2003 Mercedes - Benz SL 500. There are many other vehicles (SAABs included) that appear for repairs or reviews. My goal is to provide information and entertainment as I go about restoration, repairs, and maintenance of these cars, as well as those of my family and friends. Thank you to everyone that watches and follows along! I make these videos partly to have something to document the cars I have owned, driven and fixed, but it's great to know that others enjoy it too!

SAAB AUX Bluetooth Kit Install (1999 9-3)
มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I go over the installation of a SAAB AUX Bluetooth kit in my 1999 SAAB 9-3. I can already say that this is an awesome upgrade and sounds great! To begin streaming, turn the key to the “on” position, then power up the radio and press “cd” twice. You can advance tracks via the next button on the steering wheel. Works wonderful with my iPhone running Apple Music. The audio quality is...

มุมมอง 6K2 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I go over replacement of the valve cover gasket on my 2002 SAAB 9-3. This process is very similar on many other Saab engines: later OG 900s, NG 900s, OG, 9-3s, 9000s, and 9-5s, with the 2.0-2.3 liter engines

1999 SAAB 9-3 Convertible: What Makes The 9-3 A Great Car (Tour and Review)
I just got one given to me from the church. I’m in love with the same color.
Might be both a location and class thing, but these things are still very common to see. Along with cars older than it.
very informative video.....have the same problem. do you have an article code for this? is driver and passenger side the same code?
Appreciate the video, but what about the manually extension of the rod? Both of mine will not budge. They appear to be in perfect condition. Is there a locking mechanism or something?
Great video! One question do you have to remove steering wheel if i want to Take out the whole instrument panel attached to the body of the car?
فعلا أفضل مديل في BMW لدي 2005 استمتع في قيادتها مع انها مديل قديم
Beautiful car!
Where to buy it for saab 9-3 2000
The light on the other side of the start button is to just turn it on. So if you’re not on the brake when starting it’ll come on
Just done mine this afternoon. Watched this first and learnt how to do it. Pretty straight forward. Thanks.
I have this exact car. Same color inside and out!
What kind of engine does it have and is it fast?
@@Didkdkdj 4.4 325hp and yes in move really well. Just clicked 100,000
Thanks for the informations..it’s really helpful ✅
they should have just done this from the factory tbh
Excellent walkthrough! Mine is a V6 and totally agree that it's a great engine - bad rep comes from the timing belt which so many people don't replace. Your wagon has a beautiful color, is a manual, and vented seats? Great combo.
A bit of misinformation here. Ive the same car and to fix the windows one can remove the steel panel that holds the regulater without removing the seatback. But it is still involved. Several videos on youtube depict this endeavor.
bro the body design kinda reminds me of bmw idk why
also with the top up it looks like early 2000 mustangs
Great cars. fyi - Telsa is the new Saab.
I loved mine but it was putting me in the poorhouse because most of the work i had to let my mechanic do. the worse was the tilt/tele control going bad, that was over $2500 in repairs and labor.
Hey, thanks for doing this info. I've just swapped out the silver dash from my dead 2002 Aero to my daily drive, a 2004 Aero wagon, which for some weird reason which almost stopped me buying it, had a wood grain dash. I didn't need to take off the steering wheel cowling or the stalks, although it was a bit tight putting the dash in the 04 without taking them off. I also have another 2002 Aero that again has a wood grain dash, so now I am thinking about doing some paint tests to see if I can replicate the brushed aluminium (aluminum if you're foreign, lol) The dead Aero was my first ever Aero and my second ever Saab, it overheated up a stretch of climbing highway about 40 kilometres south of Auckland, New Zealand, I was doing around 145 kph at the time and was 120 kms from home ... didn't cry but it was a close thing. I have overheating alarms in both my live Aero's now, love these cars too much to risk losing one again. Thanks again.
.... and because of your video it took my about 30 minutes to get the first dash out, 20 minutes to get the second dash out, and maybe 10 to put the first dash in the second Aero ... although I'll be damned if I could find the plug for the ESP button, but it was getting dark (we're heading into winter here) I'll open it up again another day and have a longer look for it.
i am breaking one of these in the uk
Subscriber! Hope you had a great time at the Saab Museum 😍
Why buy this thing that cost more or same as very good new stereo with already built in Bluetooth and you also get DAB and more power than AS1/2/3!
My 93 Viggen came with this kit when I bought it, but I personally like the look of the stock head unit. The only head unit I have seen that interests me a tiny bit is the Sony XAV.... (Looks stock-ish)
LOVE it
This has to be one of the lowest mileage 9-5s in the country. Wow.
Thank you for this video ,this is the most detailed I've found of a video I could find in terms of the generation of the specific vehicle that I Am looking at.
Excellent vid. I thought the steering wheel would have to come off but you have proven otherwise.
Are they any reliable? Would you recommend 730d?
I have had one for 8 years. Done about 2,100 miles. Car done 48,000 miles in total. Has been reliable. However petrified the valve stem oil seals will go. Had a 735i and it cost me $8,000 to replace these. Car fell apart after about 100,000 miles. A car not for the faint of heart. p.s. My mechanic loves these cars. They paid for his last trip to Europe.
@@Allisbuttoys I do probably 15,000 miles a year, so 😅
I bought mine from a dealer. Actually a stealer. It has low miles 43k. The day I drove it home. 22 miles. The car was done. It showed pull over immediately stop engine add oil. The dreaded alternator bracket gasket leak. I never fixed it. This was March 2021. The vehicle is a monument on why you don't buy a used vehicle. Cause they are junk.
Shit I would have taken it back. I brought one same year had a 110,000 on the dash. No problem
Bro's literally giving up on a car because of one 15$ gasket and say its unreliable
Get 17" wheels off the '01 fixes oversteer
just bought myself a 09 9.5 2.3 Vector. its a really fun car. and really comfy, and fast to
I'm about to get a 07 2.3T wagon. Bigger car for the family ultimately
@@Truewastelander good choice :)
Intelligent and balanced review. Thank you for the total honesty! Much appreciated.
Are repairs that expensive. My newphew is selling his with 48000 on it. Perfect condition. I am wavering...
Great video man, very thorough. Looking at buying a 2009 this week. Do you still have yours?
The most beautiful cars on the road at the time. So classy.
SAAB 900. The most intelligent car ever built. I had a 1984 turbo, I miss it so much, so fun to drive.
Thanks! Very useful info
Nice but prefer the clk55 Amg
Mk1 and Frost Grey😍
Just want to thank you for these videos, they’ve been a huge help with my Saab! Hope all is well!
thank you
Great video. You did very well with one hand. It took the mystery out of it for me with some great tit bits
OMG! How much have you spent on this vehicle?
They usually had a 6 disc changer in the trunk....
How is the car now
Great review! I want to ask if you know anything about reliability of the 200hp version with the 2.0 turbo. I want to buy this car but I can't seem to find anything about it or maybe I am just bad at research :)
The engine is the b205 Hot. Good engine as long as it has routine maintenance. Will need a new pcv kit installed if it doesn't yet
Does this car have parking sensors as I didn't see you have a button to turn the parking sensors on and off? Are there models without parking sensors?
If there no button then they are no senors
Back in the day that was a extra cost opituon
Ended up picking up a 2010 but its a police package. Hoping its as reliable as my p71
Months later… but my ‘99 9-3 5spd cv is frost grey, too! “Blue” (as I call him) will be officially 25 yrs-old in Feb 2024. Rare color only for this year, I believe, but I’ve met a few other Saabers in my area w/it. It’s been mine since ‘02 when I bought it in SoCal, still my trusty daily driver, but a companion 9-5 wgn for NE winters would be nice as well, even better if it’s also MT. Same color/MY would be amazing… yours is a beautiful car.🚙 *The perforated seats are different, and odd that there’s no turbo gauge? One very thoughtful thing I really appreciate in the 9-5 (my Saab mechanic’s loaner)… that driver’s side dual sun visor! Such a simple thing but oh so helpful.😎
An absolute beauty! I own one and love it.❤
Are they any reliable?
@@five-star-media A BMW is good for at least 200,00 miles. Maintenance is key!
What kind of engine does it come with and is it fast and does it have Bluetooth?
It has a V8 engine, fully loaded a n d fast.@@Didkdkdj
This equipment works with calls? Or only works with Bluetooth sound?
