Hey I'm vet student in north Africa and I had a Debates in the veterinary sector and your videos helped me and will help me prepare for them. Thank you very much for continuing the videos despite the weak interaction. I hope with all my heart that your channel will be distinguished and become famous.
Oh wow. Debates? That's interesting. I'm so glad the episodes helped. What are you debating? And thank you for your kind words! I love to hear feedback as it encourages me and helps me make the podcast better. Good luck in your debates!
Innovation is key to buildings a good public CSR for our profession
@@akampuliratalent7001 Agreed! Have you seen innovation that you think is making a difference?
20:33 "Just because you can't do everything, doesn't mean you can't do something"
Powerful, right?! 😊
Of yourself you can do nothing truly good. For it is the nature of humanity to control matters, going so far as to convince themself of their own righteousness. It is a recursive problem, reassured ironically by one’s own pride. But for those who realize their brokenness, convicted by their shortcomings (sin), look to God in flesh, Jesus Christ, who can dwell in you, and regardless of your weakness He is able. He is strong and you are not. He is able and you are not. It is by His gift of grace and not your efforts that you can truly live, and what good that actually is done, is Christ working through you - Him who lives in you. If you believe, repent and live with Him, then ask for His rest, His comfort, His instruction - in whatever troubles your heart.
Perfect! Thanks for helping educate the public!!! Just subscribed.

I’m sad it’s not lucrative. That shouldn’t matter. If it’s someone’s passion, then they should do it. I would really like to, but I also want a family.

What are your thoughts on avian veterinary medicine.
As a career? Unless you go into poultry medicine, it may be challenging to be 100% avian medicine. I interview a poultry vet here: th-cam.com/video/HYKopQsNoNU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=sFzo2vNQdzGBbiCp You could specialize in exotics and focus as much as possible on the avian side. I heard another podcast that I’ll link that you might find interesting.

I know right?! Loved our conversation!
Thank you so much for having me!!
Honor is mine! Loved I could help share your amazing story.
The totem pole mentality really sucks and it’s so humiliating for someone like me that is getting a late start in life to follow my passion, trying to hard working two jobs and going back to school. Already struggling, and to have some people that treat me like I am garbage just because my job title is below theirs is really draining.
I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. If you haven't seen Marina's full episode, I really recommend it. She talks about how she has dealt with these sentiments and found the support system that has helped her thrive. You're doing great work and I appreciate you.
Colour has nothing todo with it....Merit only
Those five are the same ones that think everything and their victim hood mentality is because everyone is racist. When in reality nobody likes them because of the way they act towards other people. Leave race out of it and treat others like you want to be treated. It’s really that simple. Not always but a lot of times people’s actions and attitudes towards you are a reflection of your own.
I used to walk the Vet. Medicine halls at CSU and look at the graduating class veterinarians. This was in 2012ish, I would hunt for the POC or males of any color. It is a white woman dominated profession. I asked the vet I was there visiting. I was told vet school was harder to get into at the time then human medicine. There were so many more human medicine schools. People who were concerned about money went to human medicine school. That left pretty much privileged white women that could afford to attend vet school. Not my words my friend’s words. I don’t know that world.
so you're racist and sexist, cool story
Thank you for sharing your experience. This is an area of growth focus for vet med.
You are not a person of color, you are a person of Earth.
If it is a " huge minority population," wouldn't it then be a majority?
I thought that too when I first heard it. 😆 but these are comparison words. Large doesn't mean that it's the majority. It means there's more in comparison to other areas she's familiar with.
30% of the population of the province are immigrants to Canada, 25% of the population are visually 'racial minorities'. They arent the majority, but there still is a very high minority population, 1/4 are a racial minority and just under 1/3 are immigrants
@@evebruun Thank you for that detailed insight!
It's as though the civil rights movement never happened. The obsession with color, when culture is what separates us, is a cancer to our society. I can assure you that the lowered educational criteria for people of color will absolutely push all people to choose the Caucasian or Asian professional, knowing that their educational and career path was not made easier because of their skin color.
Would love to have an episode on the frequency photobiomodulation nanotechnology that is transforming pet care without the use of pharmaceutical drugs and invasive procedures...
Fascinating topic. Do you know someone in the vet profession who could speak on it?
@@vetlifereimaginedAbsolutely! This is an increasing community especially among health practitioners (especially integrative healthcare professionals)
@@Integrasia8 Feel free to recommend someone you'd like to hear speak about it.
Excellent!

A career change with confidence is like changing into your favorite pair of shoes - it might feel a bit different at first, but soon, you're striding towards a more comfortable and fulfilling path!
Great conversation. I have heard of Bank Code however have not implemented
Wonderful! I'm glad you have heard of BANK. That was very nice of Kerry to offer a free assessment too!
Hello, I was hoping to get some advice. I am currently active duty Army as a pilot, and have always had interests in marine life. My interest always has been with dolphins with Orcas being my favorite. I’m currently working on my degree in biological sciences. Should I look at changing it to more of a marine biology focus ?
Thank you for your service! It depends on what you would like to do. There’s many different career paths. For example, a lot of the dolphin trainers you see have psychology degrees. Veterinarians, honestly, I’ve heard all sorts of majors, but biology is probably one of the more common. Biology is probably fine to get you to a next step. I’m not sure how much experience you are allowed. The army has dolphins. I interviewed one of the veterinarians for the Army dolphins. I’ll get the link for you.
Link: th-cam.com/video/VJtt6niVreE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vr8ymR70ZDqtFpq_
@@vetlifereimagined yea, that’s the tough part. I need to finish up my degree and go from there. I know I am hands on and love the clinical side. I want to work with them up close. As far as career paths, is vet school the first step before going into something more specialized like working with aquatic animals?
@@JorgeGarcia-mx3ix Oh no. You can have all sorts of careers with animals. Even if you like the medical aspect, you can be a veterinary technician as well. A biology degree is a good first step, but any type of experience you can get is worth getting. It will not only look good on applications, but more importantly, you can start to see possibilities in careers, talk to different people about what they like and don't like, and start to understand what YOU prefer.
@@vetlifereimagined the Vet route is what I want to pursue. Watching your podcast hits home with how everyones path to it is so different. I know it will be a challenge with what I’m currently doing and some of those constraints.
How much school did you have to do to become a marine vet?
Great question. It might vary a bit, but there’s 4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of veterinary school, then internship and residency.
@@vetlifereimagined Okay Thanks! Do you have any books, videos, or websites that can show how I can be a marine vet or what I need to learn. Thanks again
@@megl8535 There's no perfect how-to book. That can be fun and frustrating. It's a hard career path to get into and sustain. Everyone has a unique path especially in the marine mammal, zoo world. I highly recommend watching the full video with Dr. Barb th-cam.com/video/VJtt6niVreE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=S5E29vYL7BlgxoDV and the episode with Dr. Amanda Ardente: th-cam.com/video/-GpIG2JKJi0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bIM-BZBAHqaH7E2Z That shows the story of two veterinarians who entered in different ways. I recommend looking for internship opportunities. There is now an official group of fish veterinarians as well fishvets.org/

And doctors foolishly thinking they have to be everything for everyone. Deans largely are arrogant fools. We had the Pew Report in 1988 that told veterinary schools to take a different path. Academics in veterinary medicine do not give a flip about the educational needs of veterinary students.
