Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K Out The Box Test (Open Gate)
I'd like to share my first outdoor test shots with my new BMCC6K. I mainly wanted to point the camera at stuff and check on latitude, dynamic range, how the colors were rendered, and how the image looked straight out of the camera.
For context, this camera is substituting my previous main camera, the Sigma FP, and so far the color fidelity and dynamic range have shown to be the perfect standout features to justify the upgrade. Also, not having to rig out a camera to shoot the most basic stuff is a plus for me at the moment.
For those interested in the specs:
- BRAW 8:1 Open Gate 24p
- Basic Camera Raw grading on DaVinci Resolve
- All first base ISO (some stuff at 200 ISO, mostly at 400 ISO)
- Nikon AIS lenses (18mm, 35mm, and 85mm used)
- Moment VND 1-5
- Handheld, no rigging

Picture quality looks pretty decent.
Where did you find one for $100? Ebay has them all around $500
The fixed pattern noise ruined it for me, the low light was a downer but daylight stuff looked great

I love this camera, probably more than the x20 I got when I realised the x10 doesn’t have the xtrans sensor (the reason I got any Fuji). What would be similar cameras with zooms?

I am sold! Really nice wok on the video, nice way of showing what it can do, but I think most of the shooting is talent and not the camera. Very nice edit as well. I almost was expecting it to be a short film with a plot and dialog because I was compelled as the girl traveled on he train but I know that was not what you were doing.
I was not trying to do anything with depth, I just cut up some clips I shot for the test, but glad you liked it, thanks for watching!
the sensor readout speed is such a bummer. everything else about it looks so great!
It was never a big issue for me with other cameras, and I see rolling shutter everywhere when I try to look for it lol

@@deonvnzl What I mean is in random videos I watch, I now notice rolling shutter due to the whole discourse with this camera about that topic. And with all the cameras I've shot with, I never had an issue because it was never an issue for me, you know what I mean?
yea, I know what you mean. I am quite sensitive to it so I prefer to not move the camera much on cameras that suffer with it. Which is a real shame on a small camera like this because you want to go running and gunning with it. That's the biggest thing that is overlooked in discussing the Sony cameras compared to all the other mirrorless offerings. In my opinion. My Leica SL2-S has pretty terrible rolling shutter in Full Frame but looks pretty reasonable in APS-C so I flip to that if I need to move the camera. @@diogocastrofilm

Hey , how did you do the AF ?
This video was all shot with manual focusing lenses, so no AF was used.
Hi Diogo Castro! I enjoyed your video, really fantastic shots! How is the IR pollution on the full frame version?
I've done some test shots and a shoot recently with the same VND on and some black clothing for the talent, and I haven't seen any issues with IR pollution. So far the blacks seem to be pretty clean

How's the autofocus? Any tracking? Any focus slips? My Pocket4k misses focus multiple times while using AF.
@@bryanrai I haven't tested the AF yet, all my lenses are manual. But in general, you shouldn't expect to have good AF with these cameras anyway.

"The Fuji Experience"? I got my exp. in 2008, when I bought the Finepix F30. Awesome little gem, still use it, and now it' s the new "Digicam" film craze with the CCD sensor lol!
I was able to repair an old X10 Camera that had a Focus Error. Was able to Tear Down the camera, remove and clean the Lends Unit. Now it works perfectly and is in great condition. A great buy for EUR90. Complements my X30 and X100T. Looks better than the others, is smaller than the others, so easy to take everywhere. Love Fuji cameras and their Film Simulations in 2023.

Used to be $100 before the influencers gave the fuji boom. Any fuji is several times more it used to be
I love this camera but I sent it into Fujifilm for a repair and they said they couldn’t help me because they didn’t have the parts. Suggested that I swap it for a $1000 camera plus shipping. I’ll be sticking with Canon cameras.

I've owned X10 since it's release, and it's still the Only camera i own till today, i'm not too big on photography, but it gives me a good images of my travel, day to day activities with families, etc that i ever need for my personal collection. There is no need to even upgrade when it still gives me a good photography! i can easily upgrade to Leica or what not, but X10 been with me for over 10 years, and it's my best little camera!~
I gave this camera as a gift to my daughter when it was brand new. 6 months ago, she gave it back to me having never used it. The camera is really nice to carry around. While I have other Fuji gear, this small camera is now in my bag all the time. Nice review and quite accurate.

"Worse than an iPhone" is pretty subjective. I, for one, cannot stand iPhone photos. Any of it throughout the years.
Get me another one if you can find one under 200 in good condition. I paid 350 for mine.

I still use and love my X10. Don't use the EXR mode. Customize the settings in C1 and C2 for max resolution. In my living room I have hung a print measuring 100x70cm that you cannot tell from a full frame camera.

They cost more like $230 in used market at my place.
Man this camera along with the x20 and x30 are almost impossible to find online in Australia. X10 is up for around $900 from U.S or Japan used. There are only one or two ads.i few years ago I remember seeing 10s of these cameras for $150 to $300.
Jus found under 300$ from Germany. Don't know if aussies have special eBay.

Yes it does, but only a few: Provia - Velvia - Astia -B&W - Monochrome + Yellow/Red/Green Filter - Sepia
