    I just stumbled on to your channel recently. I have to say I think it's outstanding. I like your low key, relaxed delivery. I enjoy the recipe ideas as well. As for trout baits.. I have used quite a variety through the years. As a kid, Velveeta cheese was the go to. These days , power bait mouse tails seem to do the trick.

      I really appreciate that, and I’m glad you’re enjoying the content! Velveeta cheese, I would have never thought of it but I could totally see it working! Powerbait and mouse tails definitely work wonders for the stocked trout for sure.

    Love your videos. Very informative. I'm trying to learn as much as I can before crab season ends. The back channel fishing advice you gave me worked great. Spot really liked the bag o' worms fishbites you recommended. Two question I had, where were you when catching the croaker, if your ok with sharing? Also, what (bulkhead/pier) fish can I target between Jan and May?

    • @SaltySamFishing
      @SaltySamFishing 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Glad to hear the fish bites worked out for you! Really any bulkhead or pier should provide opportunities to catch spot and croaker this time of year with small hooks and small baits. As for January and February it’s slow but in the back bays you could target white perch. March 1st is when striped bass opens again in the bays so when March rolls around the options start to pick up again!

Had a couple of high end lures and a bunch of lures made by me or painted by me and internet friends. There was other stuff but i need to stop... Hey Michael, it's been truly a tough year for Fluke so I hear you on that! Honestly, this jerk shad on the jig set up has been my number one this season for catching Fluke. Definitely give it a shot. Otherwise it's just all about staying mobile and finding those deeper pockets of water. Things are always changing in the surf in terms of structure, but check out Google maps in advance and pin some spots where you see some darker water and holes to try and fish. Walk up and down the beach and try spots until you get into them. In this video I did a ton of walking that I cut out but it took me a good handful of spots before I got on the fish. Hope that provides some form of guidance, good luck out there-persistence is key!

    Hello, how much in grams for the head of lead? What about the decoy? I have light equipment that is to fish with the family soon. Thank you very much

      I believe in grams the 1/4oz jig head would equal ~7.08. Light gear is always fun. Good luck out there, thanks for watching as always!

      Yeah that’s kind of how it’s been so far but keep trying, it’ll only get better as the season goes on!
