The person who said you got it all wrong was right. And the fact that you are only "somewhat" familiar with how to make an egg cream says everything I need to know about why I would never try one of your egg creams :/ When people are paying for a classic egg cream, they want something authentic, not something catered to the makers taste. Just awful 😖

I grew up in Forest Hills and could sit on our front steps to watch the fire works. I'd have been 14 yrs old in '76. There are so many great memories of the Ex. Thanks for posting this. I'm looking for old "street view" pictures of the Forest Hill area if you know of any.

Besides myself, and my bobbing head, the characters you most see are my mom Sylvia Holden and my brother Jeffrey. Dad only made a cameo appearance, since he was running the camera. The film stock has obviously faded. Expo 67 was known for its films with special effects, and our shaky home movie includes one, quite by accident. The last few scenes were double-exposed. Over top of Expo you see the same characters on a ski trip to Smuggler's Notch, Vt. There we are, shussing through Thailand's palace, riding chair lifts overtop of Minirails. As kids with thought this the best part of the film.

Thanks for sharing. It's so cool because it could have been me. I was nine years old also. I am not sure if you went often and are a native Montrealer. I am and was there so many times and I still remember lots of things about it, it made such a powerful impression on me. It was just an amazing out-of-this-world place and experience.

  • @Sel-Shackfield

This is what I picked up from the video. It's ok to rip off the paying customer with a sorry ass cream head that mixes with the chocolate milk and Seltzer because, that's how you like it. No one else's tradition applies but your own. That's my take. Authenticity out the window!
