Harrison Adventure ep. 1, discovering hidden gems!
The three of us are pushing farther into Harrison visiting some of our favorite spots and discovering hidden gems that we normally bypass. The 4runner and the jeep go head to head illustrating some vary obvious capability differences. Beach camping, beautiful rivers, waterfalls, and exploring new spots. what more could you ask for in a 4x4 adventure? Beautiful BC never disappoints.

มุมมอง 12K11 หลายเดือนก่อน
Hey folks this is the first of 4 episodes from our Alexander Mackenzie trail adventure. We took a 4runner, a jeep, a square body and 2 trailers on one of the best adventures we have ever filmed. We hit dirt roads in Harrison and for the most part travelled off road all the way to the Mackenzie. We did our best to explore the first 70 km of the trail that most people bypass, before taking on the...
Great video! Looked fun!
Spectacular scenery, fun looking trails! Looking forward to the continuation...
😂😂😂 reporting on the weather
loved the video!! what size tires is everyone running? I am heading there this coming summer, im on 32s lol
Glad to hear it! The 4Runner is on 33s the jeep is on 35s and the Chevy is on 38s I would definitely have a winch but realistically 32s should be no problem for the most part. Early summer could be wet and a mud fest but late summer should be pretty easy.
@Boomdiada069 sounds good!! Yea I have a winch, lockers, all those goodies! Thanks for the info! :)
@@ckli5768 awesome should be no problem. We did the Mackenzie again this September and we had a real problem with a black bear at titetown lake. We camped there for a couple days to do some atving and boating before starting the trail and a big black bear kept showing up in camp. One night while we were having dinner it snuck in behind us and was messing with our bbq. We chased it out of camp Numerous times by shooting over its head then shooting it with rubber bullets and finally bear spray. None of those worked. In the end we slept in the trucks on our last night because we didn’t want to shoot it. Any way my tips for the trail would be -be prepared for bears -bring more then one chainsaw -bring fly hats. around a 3rd of the trail will have black flys - bring no less then 2 extra tanks of fuel. We normally bring 3 extra tanks but we usually bring trailers so you may not need that much. But if it turns into a mud fest you’ll fly through the fuel. It’s an awesome trail and I’m sure you’ll have a grate time! Good luck!
@Boomdiada069 I'm surprised the rubber bullets didn't deter it more, that bear was dedicated, ill give it that! Yea, iv got a 100 liter tank, im still working out the logistics of how to take another 160l minimum. I'll definitely buy some bug net hats! Lol
@@ckli5768 yea we were also vary surprised. It never got aggressive but it was so comfortable around people that it would have walked right up to us if we let it. Yea it is a bit of a hassle carrying all that on the vehicle especially with an suv.
love that you guys had such a good time, looks like a good crew. Too bad the timing didn't work out to stop in at Kluskoil. nice work on the production too!
Thanks I appreciate it! Yea it was a really good trip. There’s so much to explore up there!
Great series on the Mackenzie !
Hey thanks! I don’t remember the name of the spot you asked about but it’s around an hour west of Williams lake down highway 20. Probably 30-40 minutes off the highway.
Planning on driving across Canada from Qc, to do the Mackenzie fall of 2024. Then on to Tuk. Where is that fabulous campsite at the 2 min mark ?
Thanks for sharing your adventures! Well done.
Thanks for the tip regarding swinging to the right on that last water crossing. Planning to hit the Mack this summer.
Hey no problem! That’s exciting! We have always gone in September to avoid some of the bugs but even then the black flies can be bad! I’m sure you have done your research. We went again last September and my biggest tips from that trip is. -Bring fly hats you won’t regret it -bring 2-3 spare tanks of gas per vehicle depending on how efficient your truck is -bring more then 1 chainsaw we had 2 breakdown after doing so much cutting for so many days -be prepared for bear defence we camped at titetown lake for 2 days and we had a big black bear constantly raiding our camp. We bear sprayed it from 20ft and it didn’t care, we shot it with rubber bullets numerous times and it would leave and then come back an hour later. The last night we just packed up and slept in the truck so we could just ignore it and not have to get out of bed. -be prepared for flat tires 1-2 good spares and a plug kit -lastly if you see locals go say hi they are all really friendly and helpful Im sure your more then prepared but that was my takeaway from the most recent trip we did there Good luck you’re going to have a blast!
Great to see guys! Stoked to watch the rest of this series.
Another awesome video ! All about good company & team work :)
Awesome video ! How i miss my younger years , & yes my old chevy was an 83 :) Loved the mud back then , now I'm happy with snow so i can get out & play :)
Thank you! Yea there’s nothing better than an old Chevy.
Boomdiada!!! Gratz on making it through the Alexander Mackenzie Trail
What a trip! Well done guys and gal. 😊
Thanks for sharing! Enjoyed wastching them all as we plan our own adventure from Harrison to Salom Glacier "all" offroad this year ;) Part of which covers Alex Mack trail.
Glad to hear it! That sounds like an awesome trip! I’m sure you have your route planned already. If you’re doing part of the Mackenzie you can turn off the trail about 18 km before Eliguk lake and go all the way to Vanderhoof on dirt roads. How long are you planning on going for?
cool jurassic park rig there
Thanks!
Only thing missing is the trikes !
You can say that again!!!
👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏good trip iloveit
Wow good trip 👍👍
What an adventure! Thanks for sharing it.
Awesome series guys! Felt like I was there with you.
Thanks glad you liked it!
That. Jeep is a tank. I liked the video
Had to watch it in “mute”. Music was annoying. Sorry guys. Great video!
Hi Lizzie Gordon Reid here - Greg and Margit’s friend. Great vids! It’s like being right there with you. I’ve watched all your videos but can’t see the one where you get to the end. I suppose it’s in the works and you are editing it before posting. I look forward to it. 😃
Hey glad to hear it! Episode 4 will be out next Wednesday.
good stuff!
That's some serious bush whacking!
Really enjoying your Adventure , thanks for sharing.
Looks like an amazing trip. Do you have gpx file or map of your full route ?
My gps tracking was a bit of a shit show but if you want to do the Mackenzie I personally would recommend using the Gia app. It has the Mackenzie trail mapped pretty well and for the most part any deviations from the map are pretty easy to decipher when you’re on the trail. For a lot of the trail there is only one way through. There is also lots of trail markers along the way.
Thanks, we do use Gaia and will check it out.
Hello from Australia, Awesome adventure, you guys are on. Great content. Keep up the great work.
