My boyfriend was truly concerned 😂 but yeah it was quite difficult and I definitely want to read the other books in the series but I need some time inbetween 👀 It also helped that I talked about the book the day after I finished it… so happy you enjoyed the entire series! 🩷

@Vivsbooks me too, I was talking to my sister on the phone whilst reading them and tried to describe how I felt and she just said: 'you know that words can also be an emotional trigger. Are you sure you're okay?' so it doesn't get better in a sense, Backman has an ability to touch something deep within me and cause an emotional response. But I was happy to have taken the time to read them in one Go. I knew the holidays were a long stretch of time where I could emotionally prepare myself and process what I've read and felt. I absolutely love them, and it takes so much depth and skill to transfer emotions into words - almost magical. But I felt very empty for a couple of days afterwards and couldn't pick up another book afterwards because everything I tried to read couldn't compare. I think I've tried 5 different books over the weekend and the first book that really spoke to me was Seven Year Slip (but it hasn't arrived yet so I only had the preview) and The Crimson Moth - so that's my next book now 🤭♥️

@@hej.anneli yeah I'm slightly scarred to go into the next book in the beartown series. I feel like I'm still processing the first one! I hope you found a book by now that got you attention! Both the crimson moth and the seven year slip are amazing! 💗 I'm in such a big fantasy mood at the moment. I kinda want to reread the crimson moth before the second book comes out! 👀

@@Vivsbooks take all the time you need to process it - everyone I've recommended it to since reading it, I warned them to only read it when they are in a good place mentally. I just finished The Crimson Moth (spoilers ahead) and I did like it, I wasn't overwhelmed though and felt it was a little clunky and unpolished at times. I found the pacing very slow at the beginning and then very rushed during the middle part. The enemies-to-lovers trope was really quick and whilst it did have some sweet scenes, it didn't feel like love to me, more like lust. Also all of the courting happened in a couple of days and I didn't really think that counts as slow burn. And my biggest issue: a love triangle, especially between brothers and a girl - it reminded me of The Summer I turned pretty. And I must admit, I really preferred Alex as a character and maybe even with Rune (even though I didn't like the plot twist about Cressida for him) and never really warmed to Gideon (I understand where his hatred is coming from but I cannot forgive him for killing people ruthlessly)🤭 Verity really annoyed me after the tenth time she interrupted Alex and Rune and then the end...😭 I knew something big was coming but I really saw more long-term-potential for Rune and him. The two of them gave me that cozy, safe kind of feeling 🤭 when I finished, I didn't really know how I felt about the book - it was a 4-star for me and I definitely loved lots of plot twists. I'm still looking forward to the second boon, I'm interested if certain characters get brought back to life (because why mention this?) but it doesn't have me hooked like other duologies I've read 🤭

I meant the quote, "When I watch you sleep, I feel overwhelmed that you exist," and if I’m not delusional (because I’m seriously doubting myself right now 😂), I think January mentioned earlier in the book that this is the kind of feeling you should have when you love someone-or something along those lines. It’s such a beautiful quote! I really want to reread Beach Read; I could totally see it becoming a five-star read for me on a second read. 😊

That’s such a great question! First of all, everyone’s reading experience is different, and I’ve realized that I’m more sensitive when it comes to heavier topics. I didn’t quite know that going into Beartown, but it’s a fantastic book. Whenever I choose to read something that I know will bring up uncomfortable or challenging emotions, I usually take my time with it and pair it with another book that’s fun, upbeat, or even silly. I’m a big fan of reading multiple books at once-it makes me feel safe and reassured knowing that if one book becomes too intense, I can escape into another world. 😊

It’s one of my absolute favorites (obviously 😂) I loved the enemies-to-lovers-romance but also enjoyed the fantasy and the witches SO MUCH 🤩 Oh I’m so happy that the naturals series worked out for your sister! That series is just superior I had no doubts. It’s good to have close by in case on feels slumpy 🤭

It's such a special book and I will forever recommend it ❤️ The more I heard about Crimson Moth/Heartless Hunter, the further it moves up my TBR. I loooooooove enemies-to-lovers and it's giving the right vibes. I've put myself on a book buying ban for now but maybe someone hasn't gotten a Christmas present for me yet - oder ich kriege nen Thalia Gutscheins 🤭🤭 Thank you so much for recommending the Naturals - I'm so excited to hear about it from her. @@Vivsbooks so no proper Bundesliga Team for you too, huh? 🤭 I did indeed finish it on Sunday. It was quite good but also really heavy and was glad it ended as positive as it did. The last couple of books I read where quite hard in terms of thematics, seems to be a theme for December, I guess. 🤭

I’m glad you enjoyed it! 🥰 I’ll be honest I read the inheritance games and it was okay but I definitely wasn’t as obsessed with it (truthfully I haven’t even read the last book). They are fun and easy to read and the majority of people seemed to love the inheritance games. For me though the naturals is soooo much better! But maybe it’s just also the Criminal Minds setting and that it therefore kinda feels less YA and I don’t really like YA? 👀

I've love the Inheritance Games series and have read every game - including the new spin-off series and can absolutely recommend it. I love her writing so much that I'm excited to get into The Naturals. I think, The Naturals might be a better starting point because the series is complete and The Inheritance Games series is still ongoing?
