@@VaudreysClassics trust me there are many who think that ,and dont ... at 70 or 80 quid an hour you dont expect to see your mechanic playing on the phone , or leave hand prints on the leather , not check the tires on a service because theres no lights on the dash , not fill the washer bottles or check the lights ,,, trust me I know tidy when I see it
Liked these cars when started seeing them about the place you heard them before you seen them great work good you could get the parts
Yeah parts are quite surprisingly available as they are all spares from other cars, the brake master cylinder is from a ford fiesta, and the steering column is from a vauxhall cavalier apparently!!

@ BN1 is pretty much the same. Same engine, same body, 4 speed box as opposed to 3 speed on the BN1, slightly enlarged front wing wheel openings, overdrive switch and ignition switch in opposite positions to BN1. Mine is also a 100M spec conversion with Denis Welch alloy head, Denis Welch DWR 1 camshaft. Omega high compression forged pistons, H6 carbs as opposed to standard H4, cold air box, 100M spec distributor running Petronixs electronic ignition. A standard a BN1 or BN2 is around 90HP. Mine was rolling road tested in 2022 at 123 HP, so the mods certainly had a positive effect.

@@austin_healey_100-4_bretonne not this time, i fit the carbs this time last year and tuned it up then. Its been running sweet ever since so no need for a fettle 👍

Ferrari say every 3 years 👀🤣 not even joking
Thats ridiculise how come it only lasts 3 years when its a modern belt that on cars of t day they last 60 k miles
3 years was recommended by Ferrari but in the US it was 5 years so most owners stick with US schedule now. However the tensioners will fail long before the belt does and you can buy upgraded ones from Hills Engineering which should allow even longer times before changes. I’d happily go 7 years considering the miles I do.

nice work. I did the valve covers as well last year by myself. You can prevent the hole sanding process when you just use some vaseline on all surfaces (applying with a Finger) which are not suposed to be painted. After the painting i just used a cutter and the Paint came off easely. Worked perfect.

I put an MGB engine in my ZB Magnette and it idles like dog.
is this what the a series Sound and idle like? was going to buy an MG, but if this is normal, id rather look for something else...
B Series engines in these. Simple to set up.

Had a Mini 1275 Gt which I converted from Single SU Carb too twin SU. Carbs , Oldschool David Visard. This geezer has a lot to learn.
Is the choke mechanism pulling the jets fully back up
Never seen such a bad video? If a car doesn't run well (and that one didn't) you go through the job in sequence, why waste time establishing there was no fuel in the car after trying to tune the carbs? All the repetitive work!!!! Blow the carbs out with air, dont just poke about and stir up the sediment, what about the sediment sat in the tube? Sorry mate you wouldn't be doing my work.

I’ve got SU 4s I always and have for years set the mixture using a Gunson colortune or better one for each carb shows exactly what the mixture is showing when burning

Question. I have just upgraded the Chimaera brakes with Brembo 4 pot front calipers & 300mm discs. I have a long pedal & suspect i may need a larger tandem master cylinder. I take it they are Girling. The question is. Is the one you are fitting a 3/4" bore & do you think a 1" bore one would mate up with the Servo. Thanks in advance. Best video I have seen of removing the pedal box. Have subbed to your channel. Maybe take a look at mine sometime. Steve.
Hi steve, im not too sure what the bore of this one is, it was just the standard replacement (ford fiesta i believe). Racetech direct would probably be the best bet for that question they do lots of upgrades and racing bits. Its a fiddly job to do! Thanks for the comment.

Needs front end adjustment to center steering wheel. Should have done before test drive video. Why is driver sawing at the steering wheel?

Yeah first 355 major. The exhaust is from scuderia car parts and is only slightly louder when cruising, absolutely not droning or ear bending at all, but when the valve opens up in higher revs is sounds like a formula 1 car! Really recommended. Adds a bit of spice to the drive now 👌

How did you go aligning the exhaust tips with the bumper cutouts ?
Not easy but with some loosening and tightening of clamps it is fine. Not millimetre perfect but absolutely acceptable to the eye👍
@@VaudreysClassics Looks pretty perfect to me. I recently had to re-align my tips after my mechanic who did the major couldnt get it right.

what capristo level did you get? 1, 2 or 3? I have a 355 spider with stock muffler but tubi headers and hi-flo cats. Sounds pretty nice (for stock muffler). Been thinking of getting a capristo exhaust.
We went for a level 2 sound, watch out for the video when its fitted!!
