This takes "Only invest what you are willing to lose" to a whole new level. Be wary of TDAmeritade. If your account is flagged as fraudulent by their automated system; you will lose access to the entire account balance for 6-12 months. They will keep the money unless you call them relentlessly. And then to get it back, you'll have to... verify your identity! Ironic, huh?

    Good day Jack. Good to see you are still living in Nica. Been a while since I talked to you. My apology for not visiting you yet as I planned last year. I am still finalizing some Army stuff here in Canada, I did not anticipate it would take this long to get VA benefits (very bureaucratic process). Hoping to come down for some good coffee after all that if finalized.

    Hello, I am an Engineering Student at Arizona State University working with a team to create an educational program of practical skills for people living in a struggling rural community in Nicaragua. We are in the process of researching the practical skills that might be most useful in helping them to address their problems with water, food, health, and the economy (small businesses families might be able to build to support the community and themselves financially.) I came across this video because I'm currently looking into gardening for food production on a family scale. Let me know if you have any thoughts of what would be most beneficial for our friends in Nicaragua to know! :)

    Do not minimise the Nicaraguan education there are middle and upper clase, and % is common; the new legislation of school education is compulsory to incorporate English in primary and secondary school. And with the internet and global access to education become more easy to speak English .

    I am agree, own your land, get a Nicaraguan girl, the custom of the family is to go to church the Catholic Church , get marry, have few children, the catholic feasts are over the whole year and Nicaragua have a lot of dance and on week generally go to San Juan del Sur, Montelimar, nature is sooo beutiful. Be a simple person, humble. Nicaragua society is more spiritual, emotional balance, we value more how positive your are mentally and emotionally. Drive safe along the country and be happy.

    As a Nicaraguan I can say that the police is a corrupt and extortionizing institution I have seen how they have taken money from foreigners, if you are a gringo they will only see a great opportunity to earn a few dollars, try as little as possible to interact with them and avoid talking or giving an opinion about the government you could get into serious problems be careful with their words.

This police force has been sanctioned by the US government, The UE, Canada and many others for things like burning families alive (Karl Marx neighborhood) killing of over 300 people for exercising their basic rights, harassment of the catholic church, drug trafficking, human smuggling etc etc. This police force is the most corrupt and deadly in Central America. Replace Freedom w the word money in USA and it all makes sense,you want to build your own home w stone and timber,materials you can find on your own acreage to create value?No,no,no the powers that be prefer you to buy the 2x3 pine stick home with glueboard and plastic weather guard,and petroleum based shingles,the shingles draw the heat off the sun so the attic becomes a furnace so the A C gets cranked,the humidity in the attic gets drawn into the studs and glueboard,then water damage works it's magic,and your going into more debt Better off out of USA dealing with small scale bribery than going against the full weight of the Corporation based bureaucracy of USA,any sense of freedom in USA starts with being very remote,like middle of nowhere,where there is little to no infrastructure,might as well move overseas at that point where there's enough pros to negate at least some cons.

    Hi nice to see you post again. Just spent 6 weeks in Nicaragua checking out various areas. I have been following you and interested in life in Nicaragua for several years and finally got to go! Such a beautiful country and I will definitely spend more time there in the future. I really enjoyed my time there! About police: I found them intimidating at first especially being from the US and constantly feeling like I have to protect myself from the police. The majority of police I observed or interacted with were helpful and personable - like most Nicaraguans. However I think the issues are in their banking, legal system and procedures. Not blatant police brutality. Based on an experience I know of another foreigner, there is much corruption in the legal system and Nicaraguans in general can see a foreigner as a target for extortion. Most people in Nicaragua have very little opportunities to improve their lives or create income aside from taking advantage of foreigners, tourists and travelers. And by taking advantage I don’t necessarily mean that in a bad way. However most of them have no problem ripping you off a few dollars here and there because they can get away with it and they believe you can spare it since you are gringo. I honestly do not believe there is any more or less corruption in the Nicaragua police/jail/legal system than in the US! All government is about the same to me!

  • @ritasjourney
    @ritasjourney หลายเดือนก่อน

    A lot depends on where you live in the US as to how the police behave. The police in my area are very respectful. I live in a beach community in Southern California. Biases and racial distrust is always going to be a factor in policing. It’s human nature. I think blacks (and any other groups that wants to) deserve to have safe spaces where they police themselves. Problem solved. 😂

    • @JackPitmanNica
      @JackPitmanNica หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good points. I should have mentioned that Ive met cool police in the USA, I dont think that all US police are bad. The point is more that the way police operate is fundementally different in Nicaragua. Its more teamwork and less technology

  • @arosalesmusic
    @arosalesmusic หลายเดือนก่อน

    Community Policing: Nicaragua's police work closely with communities through initiatives like family assemblies and community patrols, fostering a participative approach to law enforcement. This contrasts with often more militarized U.S. policing strategies that rely on technological solutions and enforcement rather than community engagement. Effectiveness in Crime Reduction: Nicaragua has reported notably low homicide and violent crime rates compared to its Central American neighbors, attributed to its community policing strategy. The Nicaraguan police are praised for their effectiveness in community engagement, while U.S. police have faced backlash over issues like racial profiling and perceived brutality, affecting public trust
