Did you know? The fact that Dan Vs. aired on the same channel as My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic is just like where two shows predate Isabelle and Doom Guy or Barbie and Oppenheimer.

It's like a rorschach test. You can tell whatever you want to identify this character. Like, i see him as a gay green alien who likes to clean and others see candy as a she or he. It was genius, I never knew that when i was a kid, i just carried on enjoying the show, and then i grew up knowing about it and i was like "how could i not know that ?! Okay, Now that was funny!".

I'm now rewatching and noticed that in french the others are calling candy "he" so I was like what the..? I always thought he was a girl since he used to dress sometimes like a girl and also the ideas of a "woman should clean and cook" and the voice actor do sounds a bit feminine! Well I now know bc in France back then that wasn't something seen as "normal" so nobody would explain other identities or sexualities at school, I said to myself the french's would never do things that are not seen as normal due to the amounts of homophobes here... But then I was truly happy when I did my researches and it said that candy is the representation of a "gay male" Loved that finally a french cartoon had someone who's different! Despite the stereotypes in the cartoon 😭
