Sometimes the change is even more subtle than that. A couple weeks ago, I was fishing with a friend, he was in the front of the boat, and I was in the back of the boat. We were both throwing chatterbaits, nearly identical. I would cast to the same place, that he just casted, and I was out catching him four to one. The only difference in our two chatterbaits was that his was white, and mine was dirty shad, so it had dark color on the top of it. Wasn’t even a dark chatterbait, was just dark colored on top. As soon as he switched to the same color as me, he started catching them. There are lots of times that I think the color almost doesn’t even matter, like when they are aggressively feeding. But then, like you mentioned in the video, Sometimes a color change can be the difference between having them nip at it, or sideswipe it, and having them fully choke it. We just have to be observant to what the fish are doing, and willing to make the change when they’re telling us they want something slightly different. Good luck for the rest of your season!
