I'm new to sewing and can't work out how to scale up patterns to make bigger. If I wanted a base of 20cm wide would the sides still be 6cm in and down to create the triangle or different measurements. Please help. Thanks

Thank you so much for your appreciation! The strap length is 110cm with a width of 10 cm each.
Please pull the pins before sewing over them. The worst thing is getting a broken pin jammed into the bobbin housing. It causes all kinds of damage. Plus your box corners would lay better if you opened the seams.

Yes you can use regular fabric....(Canvas/ Cotton).
Courdory and denim are also great for bags!! As long as whatever material you use is non-stretch
