8t wasn't all bad, i grew up in Clovenstone, ( clovie) a sort of suburb of wester hailes..yes life could ve though at times, but still have lots off good memories 🔥
Great
clovy mob 1970s eddy sebastion and brian big harry darcy john melvin
had a fight with a bay city roller in the early 70s in the underpass at the shopping centre good times
I’m greetin’ here. Block 5 Hailesland park from birth in ‘77 through to ‘86 when we finally got out of that dangerous home. I remember my mum going to switch TV on at the wall, and a massive white flash flew across wall. Dehumidifiers in each room. Giant brown fungal plants growing in corners of ceilings etc. apart from all that, I loved and missed being from hailesland. Had all my pals there as an 8yr old. Hope they are all on to wonderful things……..
hehe, great stuff! Grew up in Dumbryden, went to WHEC. Had many a torpedo outta Greggs in the centre on our school lunch break.
Totally agree, I was quite emotional watching this, I was from just up the road in Hailesland Park. Great times 👍
Not a place to wander around on your own in the 80's
Not sure I’d totally agree although I was only wee so I might of been exempt from getting a pasting. The houses were more dangerous(to live in) than the Streets. That, I do know.
I lived in block 72 WHD lots of black ⚫ mould in one of the bedrooms underneath a balcony Council would do nothing about it I eventually was given another house and less than 2 years later the flats were all pulled down When all the flats were gone before they rebuilt the ground I went back to look at where I had lived and brought up 3 children The empty space wasn't that big and so many people had lived there 😀
@@lindamillar2505 I was brought up at 24 wester hailes drive in the 80's and I remember an old guy died in the flats behind us because some junkies set his front door on fire and killed him. Must have been around 84'-86' (I was very young at the time). I remember when they filmed the movie 'Restless Natives' there, and all us kids got to chase these guys on a motorcycle across a footbridge as they threw monopoly off the back - up towards Clovenstone Primary School. Nowadays it seems Wester Hailes gets used to home refugees as well as the usual druggies. An interesting place for sure.
Bollocks, I grew up there, no more trouble than anywhere else, certainly a LOT better than Pilton, muirhouse, Craigmillar to name a few
@@DizzyVizionit wasn't Monopoly money, it had boy George's face on it..I caught some, had it for years
love the music!! great film...reminds me of my childhood in london

I'm sure that there are many decent people living there. I enjoyed the video, and I really liked the song too.
