I have been to Israel numerous times in my life and traveled to literally every corner of Israel, Yehudah and Shomron. On every trip, I made plans and an effort to go and visit Ma’arat HaMachpelah, to pray at the resting place of the four couples, our ancestors. But every time, on the specific day arranged to go there, I was prevented, because of violence in the area and the Israeli military closing accessibility to the area temporarily. Now I am much older and my resources to once again make this trip, now alone, are limited. I have prayed at the Kotel in Jerusalem and in Meron where Rabbi Shimon and his son together with Hillel and his students rest. I have accepted that when G-d wishes to allow me to visit and pray with my fathers and mothers, He will arrange for this to happen. And if not, then my soul will depart this world without having accomplished this goal because it is not G-d’s will at this time.
