Had any issues with it?
Sorry for my delayed response. No, I have not had any issues with it whatsoever. I have looked at getting a 640 scope but the more I look the more I have decided that I have the perfect scope for my type of hunting. With the 4x base magnification I don't need to zoom out to 200 yards and that is about as far as I would shoot anyway. I have owned 2 other AGM thermals before I finally settled on the Adder TS50. Never had any issues with the other 2 scope as well. I have viewed through other more expensive scopes and didn't see that they offered any advantage.
Thank you for not shooting the Fox.
Top right corner of the screen, what is the A1 160 yd?
That is the distance that reticle is zeroed at. Each reticle can be zeroed at a different distance. Hope that helps.
Other than FOV, Is there any clarity difference or other benefits that the TS50-384 has over the TS34-384?
I don't think you would notice any difference in clarity but the 4x base magnification of the TS50-384 is better suited for me.
Beautiful shot!! Looking at one of these thermals right now. How far was that?
Catching them roaming si a lot easier than call them. My 60 YO eyes are not farr behind. Keep hunting!
Were you call coyotes or just targets of opportunity? Love my Rattler BTW!
Not calling, coyotes roam this area constantly. I was out last night until about 12:30am, saw one sneaking through the edge of the woods but couldn't get a shot. I had a Rattler TS35-384 and really liked it but the 4x base magnification on the Adder is a big help for my 65 yr old eyes. I also have a TS19-256 Rattler that I have removed the mount from and just use as a handheld scanner. I think the AGM scopes are great and would recommend to anyone wanting to get into thermal without spending $5k plus.
Cool how your dog gets right on them yotes!
Sure didn't look like you missed.
I agree, looked like a hit to me as well
Nailed him. Great shot!
Great shot and video. You displayed a lot of good patience waiting for the right shot. Well Done!!
What brightness and contrast settings are you using in this video? Still fine tuning my 35-640.
Hi Deanna. I change settings depending on conditions at the time. Sometimes white hot looks better and sometimes black hot looks better and I will use different brightness settings depending on which color palette I am using. I also change from jungle or recognition for the same reason, sometimes one looks better over the other. In white hot mode I am usually around 3 brightness and 3 contrast and as I said that may change slightly depending on conditions. I really love the scope I have and hope you get much enjoyment out of yours. Happy Hunting!
That was cool, I’ll be taking my pup for sure.
Really looking at getting the agm adder would u recommend
Really looking at getting the agm adder would u recommend
Yes, I own 3 AGM thermals and the Adder is my favorite. I use a TS19-256 for a monocular spotter and a TS35-384 Rattler. The Adder is by far, at least for my hunting, better than the Rattler because of the 4x base magnification. Depending on the ranges you hunt you might want the Adder TS35 for a wider field of view but for my hunting the TS50 is perfect for me. Never had any issues with any of the scopes. They are all easy to use and easy to update. I don't think you will have any regrets with either Adder model you decide on.
@@TSByars alot of weird noises on the audio?
@@TheJosebd Yes, the gain on the microphone is way to high. The gun is actually suppressed but doesn't sound like it when recorded on the scope. I even have a piece of tape over the small hole for the mic. Maybe a future software update will fix this.
Should I buy the agm?
I did
Thumbs up 👍🏾
Thumbs down
Do you recommend this scope ? I’m having a hard time trying to decide what thermal scope to buy for coyote hunting this winter. Anything you don’t like about it ? Thanks 🙏
Yes, for the kind of hunting I do this scope seems to be just what I needed. I had the AGM Rattler TS35-384 before I got this one and really liked that scope but the extra base magnification on the Adder really helps when the coyotes are out much past 100 yards. All of my shooting is inside of 200 yards and 95% of the shots are somewhere between 100 and 200. If your hunting ranges are 100 yards or less you might want to consider either one of the Rattlers or the Adder TS35 for the field of view. The Adder TS35 still has more base magnification than the Rattlers though. I do like the sound recording on the Adder and the Rattlers do not have that . The Adder TS50 works very well for my needs and I hope this has been of some help in your decision.....I've been in your same position trying to decide myself.
Thanks for the reply , I’m used to pulsar NV and downloading the videos from the scope to the app is quick and easy , How do you download your videos from your adder ?
@@paul-upstate-nyhunter7394 Downloading videos and pictures from the scope is very easy. I just connect to my computer with USB cable and drag and drop the files. Haven't tried to my phone but would imagine that would not be a problem.

info on the rig your using!
I am using an Anderson Arms AR15 platform, handloaded 223 ammo with 55gr vmax bullets, self built suppressor registered with ATF form 1. For the distances I hunt (200yds and under) the AGM TS35-384 Rattler does an excellent job. I haven't hunted all summer due to the heat but plan on hunting this weekend for a bit here in north MS
How ya liking the scope? I decided on this one now just saving the cash.
I have had the scope since last November and it still impresses me every time I hunt with it. If you are going to be hunting inside of 200yds I think you will be very happy when you get it. The updates are very easy to install and I recommend that you check and install the latest update if it is not already in the scope. I used to coyote hunt with an X Sight 4k pro scope and killed many coyotes with that but have sold that scope now that I have the thermal. Shooting with it takes a little getting used to but I have shot at 9 coyotes since having this scope and killed 8 of them along with some fox and raccoons at ranges from 85 to 160 yards. Send me an update after you get the scope and let me know how you like it. Happy Hunting..............
@@TSByars that’s good to hear. Being in Michigan where I’m at I don’t do a lot of long range shooting. Max would be 300 yards and even then I don’t trust my skill. Under 200 would be perfect. Happy hunting
@@TSByars that’s really good to know. Thank you!
animals have one hell of a pain tolerance
You cant shoot worth a damn
Ditto-ditto. I am running out of coyotes around my place in Montana, though. Mine is mounted on a bolt rifle, (TC Compass), and I find an add-on fabric- based cheek piece to be helpful..
I live in north Mississippi and hunting mostly on our property behind our house. I have lost count over the years of the number of coyotes killed from this spot. Seems to be a endless supply. Scope mounted on a suppressed AR type 223.
I have same-same scope. I like it, but running out of coyotes around here and the neighbors'........
Nice!!!!!
I have the ATN X Sight II and mine looks better than that at those distances with the stock light that comes with the scope. I can see 350 yards away with it. I am looking for something to make that 350 yard view of mine brighter at that distance.
Outstanding
is the refresh rate slow or is that just when you upload it from a recording?
are you still using & enjoying sight?
Yes. I have not been hunting for about a month now because of the temperatures here but the scope continues to work well without any issues.
I am trying to mount the same scope on the same rifle and it is not working correctly. what mounts did you use or how is yours set up thank you
You will need to use a one piece mount base. I built mine so I wouldn't know where to tell you to look. I hope this helps.
I am figurine that out thank you
Awesome video showing the power of the xsight. We shoot wild dogs here in Australia, a cross between the Dingo and domestic dog. Very destructive on sheep. If you get a chance check out my channel and have a look at some we have gotten over time, please comment. Kindest regards from the aussies. th-cam.com/users/olddogger25
Hello Gary. Yes the X Sight has worked very well for me. I took a look at some of the dogs you have killed. Would love to try that sometime if I ever make it down under. Best regards
Wow, that scope is paying off nicely for you! Nice shooting!
Thanks
k--- I have two of those houses close by -- thank you I'm adding those to my list of baits.
What bait were you using ?
+Michael Raney Hog guts from a local slaughter house.
How do you like this sight so far? Nice shot. Thumbs up!~John
+WORRO01 For the way I hunt it works great. I have had it for over a year and killed many coyotes with it. Most of my shots are 100 - 150 yards, the coyote in this last video was about 140 yards. I don't think it would work that well if you were in the woods or had other tall growth between you and your target. The ir light reflecting from other objects causes the automatic exposure to dim limiting your range. I works very well for me in an open field though. Hope this helps.
+T.S. Byars yes Sir, good information, and very helpful. Happy safe hunting to you!
Nice shot, man! I've dialed mine in at the range, but haven't had a chance to hunt with it yet. Did you use the standard illuminator, or have you added a more powerful one? Thanks for sharing the video!
The illuminator is one that I built. The one that comes with the scope will not work well at this distance.
Thanks! That one looks really nice and bright and appears to work well with your X-Sight. It fills the entire picture at that distance.
What kind of laser?
Like one of these from Ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/850nm-350mW-Near-IR-Dot-Laser-Module-Focusable-IR-Laser-Module-1-pcs-/251216047999?hash=item3a7da4af7f:g:ri0AAOxy2FZSSapb
Another great shot! Wow, I didn't think one would come back like that. Looks like you are liking that scope. I've got mine sighted in fairly well at 100 yards on bulk .223 ammo. I'm going to run a box of match grade through it to dial it in the rest of the way. I'll be out for yotes as soon as the firearm season for deer is over. Can't wait to give it a try!
The bait pile is about 135 yards from my stand so the first coyote was at the pile and the other was only about 3 or 4 yards closer. Using a suppressed 22-250.
Nice shot! How far?
TS thanks a million I really appreciate your expertise on the unit I will probably email you video, I'm at this time not TH-cam savy. you can contact me on the website , business #,or my email below . I know the scope is way different than my insite L3 thermals but think they will work on those cattle feeders . may give it a try this weekend. thanks again leemreed@yahoo.com
no TS, I didnt , got to get it mounted on AR . I didn't see battery monitor in scope. TS , does it warn you of low battery?
+Lee Reed Yes it will warn you when the battery is low. With alkaline or rechargeable batteries you have a little time left when it comes on but with lithiums it will shut down pretty quick once the battery warning comes on. It will not allow you to make any videos when that comes on as well. You should be able to get the crosshairs to be clear for you when you adjust the eyepiece. You can do that even with the lens cap on, just turn it on and observe the crosshairs while turning the eyepiece to bring it in focus. You only have to adjust that once and then it is set for your eyes but someone else may have to re adjust it for them. I liked the red or green crosshairs but they seemed to glare to much so I have been using the black. You will have to try it to know which one works best for you. I want to know how the 3-12x works out for you and hope you can post a video or two with it. If you will email me I will give you some more information on some modifications that I have done as well as some pictures of my setup. (byars@comcast.net)
TS, I'm Impressed I've always had an iterest in machining that's neat you made your own did you see the post I made Saturday answering the questions you had I used my phone didn't know if it worked I usually use the computer
+Lee Reed I think that I did if it was concerning the use of a gen 2 system without illumination. If I did not respond then sorry about that but thank you for the information. Give me the name of your website again if you would?
tacticalthermal.net I got the 3x12 Xsight today. I just updated firmware. guess I'm gonna need glasses to use it man are the crosshairs blurry its rough getten old don't do it TS. not fun.
+Lee Reed The back eyepiece should be adjustable to make the crosshairs clear without glasses. Have you tried that?
TS, did you have to purchase picitinny type rail for your rifle or did it mount to standard weaver base
+Lee Reed I work at a contract machining company in engineering Lee. I actually made a one piece picatinny type mount for my rifle. I see that Midway has a large variety of them but they are not cheap.
did you get my reply to the questions you asked saturday? Lee
TS, My considering the Xsite is for hogs on cattle feeders in open pastures , all will be under 100yds . I dont beleave the xsite would work for our coyotes due to the range we detect them . we have a weed called dog fenel that grows 5 feet tall and covers the pastures the thermal can pick them up walking thru it. The dog fenel would refect the IR light and coyotes would be hiding in the shadows and not be seen . Gary has this problem with his Gen 3 even with a streamlight ir illuminator. His hand held thermal is was gets him on the coyote then shoots with gen 3 when it comes out in the open . Our shots vary from 300 yds to 30 yds . We hunt out of summit tree climbers helps with our scent off the ground and over thier heads and we get a birds eye view . It also promotes safety because we are shooting into the ground and not on a flat plane. I started shooting suppressed coyotes dont scatter as they did unsuppressed. Anyway I ordered a 3x12 and will use it short range on feeders . Saw 30 hogs Sat night and a 2 person hog hunt comming up .They were all big ones hope they stick around till November
+Lee Reed Great and be sure to let me know how the 3-12x works out for you. I know what you mean about the grass reflecting the light back into the scope, also a light fog or rain mist ends my hunts. Thats where the thermal would be king but at a price that I just cannot justify......at least to my wife.
TS, do you find the wifi feature useful Lee
+Lee Reed To be honest the only time I have turned it on was just to see if it worked...and it did. I can see where it might be nice if you wanted to observe someones shot if you were sitting there with them but I also wonder what kind of extra drain it would create on the batteries. I was also wondering what distances you usually shoot. If they are 100 yards or less you may want to strongly consider the 3-12x model. I sometimes think I would have been better off with it instead of the 5-18x due to the lack of field. Most all of the shots in my videos are between a 100 and 150 yards.
TS , it looks like you have quite a nice spot for coyote hunting, and from what I see the set up you have is fine for that spot. I dont know your financial situation and if you want a better scope you wont be satisfied with night vision unless you at least start with gen 3 . Thermal 320 grade has dropped in price my first 320 was 7k they are now below 5k with better cores than mine. I have a small fortune in the business and it is quite a battle to get business ranchers think the night scopes are toys and they dont trust that you wont shoot their stuff for not seeing it . Ive had to work hard gaining trust in what i do and our night equipment. Most rancher ,s dont want to pay bounty they feel letting you hunt is pay enough . I got one rancher to let me sell hog hunts in exchange for shooting coyotes. That works ok $500 for thermal hunt $250 day gun hunt. I thank God I found Gary he helps for just the love of hunting and he purchased all he own night equipment. We work hard for coyotes and they out smart us more than we out smart them they are easily educated and we have To continously change tactics . Any questions you have on night equipment feel free to ask anytime Lee
