It looks like you are pruning in winter. Everything i've read says to do it in the summer to avoid disease.
Could you share the cherry variety and location/zone?
Best pruning video I’ve seen! Thank You!
Excellent video. I appreciate your clear explanations and guidance. Thank you! (New subscriber).
Thank you for explaining why you cut what you did. This was the most helpful cherry pruning video I've found. Thank you!
Heck yeah! Nice school. I like the Chili Pepper side too. Hello and GOD bless from Montana. 🎉
That was Very helpful. After wanting a cherry tree for years I finally got 2 dwarfs this year (I live in a small townhouse). Hubby doesn't understand why I'm so nervous about pruning next year. He doesn't realize that it's not like a lilac that'll bounce back. If I screw up the first couple years of cuts I could essentially reduce its lifetime harvest by half. (Or more)
This is brilliant, thank you! Hello from Gateshead, England :)

Is it best to prune in the fall or spring
Watched all 3 of these videos. They are very helpful and well explained. Thank you.
I have a couple of cherry trees but have little luck getting fruit. Thanks
These have been helpful. I am going out today to prune.
Excellent
I think that you're leaving way too many vertical branches. For example at 3:20, after cutting the branch that goes back into the tree, I would have cut the thick branch that it originated from too. That would just leave that horizontal branch pointing outwards... I have made a mistake of not pruning cherries for many years.. the trees ended up being very tall, with almost all the vegetation in the upper part of the tree, leaving the ground level with dried out branches... Gotta prune them every year..
Hello , can you tell me what variety and rootstock is ? Thank you
What season do you do your trimming?
