Ford Ranger/ Explorer M50D Manual Transmission Removal/ Installation Tips
มุมมอง 98ปีที่แล้ว
The slave cylinder went out on my Explorer project, so my already worn-out transmission had to come out. So this is all the random things I learned as I removed the old transmission, and put another one in. Some of this is 4.0L/ 4WD specific, but a lot of it applies to the other engines as well.

I just replaced my briggs and stratton blown up intek v twin with a 20hp apposed twin. Runs great super smooth
That's great!
God the first two minutes were hard work, about as useful as an ashtray on a bike?
That was a great video. I am looking for a starter for this exact same mower 40702X92C. DOM 0254. The online schematics do not list a starter in the parts lists. Do you have any ideas of how I could find one?
Assuming your tractor has a plastic gear on the starter, and a aluminum gear on the flywheel, this will work: www.amazon.com/Briggs-Stratton-7hp-18hp-41022003-41022003R/dp/B00TOFFCPK/
It’s there any way to install a y pipe to dump it out the side?
That's basically what I did.
Hey I have the same mower but when I engage the blades it shuts off
Probably the seat switch sensor or wiring is broken.
@@franksenginesandstuff1592 thanks it was the seat safety switch, working 💪
Good job young man me an my dad watching your video
Thank you
Where did you get the manual?
I downloaded it.
That thing is mtd #7530685 circuit breaker. I think it is a thermal fuse that will automatically reset after cooling down.
Show steering box' exactly, bat no around and stoping camera!😮
I just subscribed to your Channel got good stuff thank you for the video

THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO
Good mower it's all about the ethanol
Nice video i'm just dizzy as shit
the coupler on most grease guns can be screwed apart a little to make them easier to remove from zerk . if loosened too much though , you'll have to reassemble the coupler .
I have a Lock-N-Lube grease gun now. 👍
So SpOrTy great build
proud of u lil bro this is awesome
WTF IS WRONG WITH YOUR VOICE?!
Could u possibly send me a picture of how your wiring is done I have the same one and can’t figure it out when I put the key to the run position it trys to crank
I just took some pictures I can send you. But I'm not sure how to do so? Want to share your email address?
Kentucky

Sounds like a good engine thank you for the video 👍
Thanks for your comment!
Thank you for the video 👍
👍👍
Your engine is going to blow the connecting rod.
Nice job man. If you get yourself a nice little area cleaned up to do this it will be much easier.
Nice work! Hehe “Ford Flex” I love it
Thank you!
Don’t show off that paperwork lol.
Did Frank Rizzo do that?
How’d you ensure the right pipe that would thread in? I can’t weld and want to do something that’ll thread in I’m just unsure what to purchase.
Firstly, newer engines don't usually have threads in the exhaust ports. When the flatheads died so did the practice of threading exhaust ports. Remove your muffler or header or whatever and measure the distance across your exhaust port. If it's about 3/4" across you need 3/4" pipe, if it measures about 1" you need 1" pipe, you get the idea. I get my pipe from Lowes. Get black iron pipe and fittings (gas pipe). Don't get galvanized pipe because I've heard that lets off toxic fumes when heated.
What pipes did you use to make the header?
They are 3/4 inch black iron gas pipe from Lowes.
great job! i really like that blue color. proud of you bud!
Sound like a little kid 😂
Hi Sir - actually I am still a kid.

good job lil bro. i learned a lot!
Annoying
It's surging because the governor needs adjusted
Thanks for the tip
Does it just thread in?
yes!
Hope to see more in the future
Nice
Thanks for walk-in me thru the card cleaning. Great job!
Thank you!
Hi..
Hey I just bought one of these, would you mind figuring out what size the front and rear belts are, mine came without them?
Evidently, the only belts availible are the genuine ones. I was able to get the set for a way lower price (though still expensive) on Ebay. Here are the part numbers that were on the belts themselves: Engine to vairible speed pulley, 754-0358, vairable speed pulley to transaxle, 754-0432. The engine to variable pulley belt has the same number listed in the manual, but the vairable pulley to transaxle belt has a diffrent number in the manual. Both belts came in a kit, part number was 753-0528. I got the belt kit on ebay, and I think they also sell them on Partstree, for a higher price. The belts are about 3/4" thick. I pulled that info from the posts I have made here: www.gardentractortalk.com/threads/hechinger-mtd-149-818-3727-18hp-tractor.90577/#post-1013452 The belt kit came with a note saying the 1991 and later models use a different belt kit. (Now I can't find the note).
What r u saying
IKR
I can get that same exhaust from the hardware store
