How did you get a permit to use a drone there? I'm going soon but I thought a research permit or something was needed

I use to live in Birchwood apts (which was a block away) back in 98-99, during the summer break I'd hang out everyday at this mall.... I'd eat Carls Jr and buy some PS 1 games or VHS movies and come home and watch them. Looks so different. There was also a dollar theater on the first floor. I remember watching Anaconda and Independence Day in that theater. Happiest memories I have of this mall. Life was so much simpler.

I always wanted to go to the end there, but looks like the trails are not well taken care of, but the river/creek looks clear and beautiful.

Great video. My friend lived a couple miles from there and we would cross through Craig Park and go over to the record stores, video games and see a movie. I remember the Hot Dog on a Stick in the foot court and thinking oh dear those poor workers smashing the lemons. 86 to 96

Indescribably beautiful! I grew up very close to this place and spent so much precious time with my family members walking there, enjoying the early morning bird walks with my favorite aunt Martha Hegstad, 5:02 and impromptu Saturday afternoon picnics. All my dear ones are all passed on now and at rest, most of them in Forest Lawn Glendale, just a few miles away, and beautiful in it's own way... but when I want to remember those good times and feel close to them I go to Descanso, and it's such a blessing. Times change and people don't live forever, but this place is such a source of beauty, memories and comfort, I will always remember it and them. Shout-out and Thank you's for introducing me to this beautiful place - to my parents William and Ruth Blackman, my aunt's and uncles Sivert and Martha Hegstad, and Ben and Marion Hohensee, and my grandmother Annie Louise Peckham Wilcox. The ever-changing beauty of these hills, streams, gardens and flowers will always bloom intertwined with my memories of you all and nourished by my love for you. Thanks also to Los Angeles County who took custody of this unique estate and transformed it for the people of Los Angeles to enjoy. I am forever indebted to you.

It appears the flowers bloom section is small in comparison to other areas.

Lots of lookers, not many people with bags indicating purchases. Many stores closed. Food court and restaurant area is almost abandoned.
