Ruger RxM 9mm don’t call it a Glock clone
The Ruger RX M pistol is not a Glock clone. It is a Ruger that has exceptional reliability, as well as many solid features at a reasonable price point of roughly $400. If you were in the market for a handgun, take a look at this. At this price, you can buy some ammo and maybe a few lessons as well.

This is a continuation of teaching, my teenage daughter how to defend herself. If you have a daughter, she needs to know how to defend herself because you will not always be there as a parent to protect her. today we work on low-level kicks to the knee in order to stop the attackers mobility hoping to get away following that strike.

The two factors that have driven private gun sales in the United States
มุมมอง 32หลายเดือนก่อน
The increase in violent crime and defund police movements have driven private citizens to purchase firearms for personal safety. The problem is that training with firearms has not increased as well. Be professionally trained and know the laws of justified self defense for the state you reside in.

Review of Smith 327 / 357 mag / Matt Rhodes
I am planning on carrying this EDC style because I really like the feel even better than my Glock pistols. Someone commented that this is a refinement and they are correct.
The RxM is a refinement, not a direct copy (clone). There are about 21 improvements over the original G3 Glock. You are correct.
The Ruger or XM is proving to be a very reliable good pistol. I am in the process of using it as a EDC firearm. The Ruger LCP has become another favorite as you can have it with you always. The Ruger brand as a rule means reliability and affordability. Let’s not forget made in America.
LCP for summer. RXM for winter. 🇺🇲
It is assumed that most females will be smaller and not as strong as a male attacker. The goal is to get one or two good shots in to break contact and hopefully escape. That being said, I have to explain to my students in regards to firearms instruction or open handthat you could be injured and you have to keep fighting no matter what until you are safe.
It's not easy for women to fight off larger men, regardless of the man's fighting ability. We have tiny women in my Pentjak Silat class like her, and it sours my stomach when they don't put any effort into it. Even my Guru last night was (kindly) telling them that they need to increase their intensity and resistance, cause it could save their life.
Ruger and magpul sounds like a rugpul
Very solid if I did not own a gun and was going to purchase this would be it.
More like a Glock upgrade 😂 great, no nonsensical video!
It will fit in Glock holsters
The Ruger RXM9 mm is not a Glock clone. It is a stand alone pistol that mag pull help design. It ran flawlessly and it feels good. The price point is around $400. This is a solid self-defense option.

Nice Glock
The 22 magnum revolver is starting to gain traction much like the 32 H&R. The 22 magnum ammunition is far better made as a rule than 22 long rifle and I think that is part of the popularity as well as the fact that 22 magnum is a nasty round.
The bodyguard Smith & Wesson is a great self-defense handgun. To me it feels better than the 2.0 bodyguard. I personally like that. It has a re-strike capability because it is hammer fired in the event of around, not going off. Mine at this point has been flawless.
There are several Taurus revolvers that work very well for self-defense and they have really upped their game as of late. As a rule in my revolvers, especially if chambered in 38 Special I tend to go with standard pressure self defense ammunition. In some cases, even basic wide cutters are great self-defense rounds. It is all about being able to put rounds on target in a life in the situation.
I have the Taurus 856 snub. I love the conceal ability of the 642, however, in +P it is not pleasant AT ALL to use at the range. Love your no-nonsense vids!
Good video i see that the Bodyguard gets a bad rep since the 2.0 came out. I am looking for a 22 magnum revolver
I think it is a cool thing when a father and daughter can train together. I believe that parents need to make sure their children are confident and able to take care of themselves in a variety of situations and unfortunately, one of those is defending themselves because mom and dad are not always around
These are overlooked options as many people go for high capacity with red dots laser sites all the bells and whistles, but they do not practice. It is better to have a used, reliable handgun, be trained by a professional than to have the most expensive firearm and have no idea how it works
Based dad
I think its necessary to work on hip rotation to make circular kicks more powerful, and the outward rotation of the base foot also makes more space for kicking. Front snap kicks to the shin can also be good since shes using shoes. With more flexibility, those front snap kicks can reach the chin, they are harder to see and to catch since they are out of sight and dont telegraph as much as roundhouses.
The goal is to build basic skills and that doesn't happen overnight. I am not training her to be a top level fighter but avoid conflict when possible but face it when there is no other option. The other goal is to build confidence that you can face your fears and for many young girls it is anxiety and depression, so exercise is great but exercise that gets all that energy out and teaches life saving skills is better. Once again this is the early stages of training.
what she needs is to run. her technique everything will improve by running ive never been the one teaching women and children so i cant really decide what the right way of going about it is. there are way too many things to critique in the video. almost every time i feel that the gap separating normal female fighters and decent female fighters is speed so just high intensity training sprinting twitching stuff will always be the most simple way to improve. but from my limited experience its very hard for girls to train hard so i guess just letting her have fun exercising would be the best option. though i think youre trying to spread good information the reality is all of this is almost always useless and could negatively affect people by making them think that they can do anything against a male that is even remotely fit. i believe that what you really should do is to make her understand that she wont be fending anyone off with that and that running away or getting help is the best way for her. reccomend her soccer, track, marathons, just any kind of activity she finds fun and could continue but i believe strength in the lower body, hips etc. will directly affect her chances. if she finds martial arts interesting and is willing to improve, first on my mind would be speed, then stamina strength while training bjj, kickboxing etc. if you are purely worrying for her safety, running will always be the best bet even considering situations where she cant run. and thats you and her job to not get into those situations. if she was a top level fighter it would be a completely different story but i doubt thats what youre trying to get her to be. anyway run run run the one thing everybody should be doing
Just basic self-defense training for a worst case scenario that my daughter cannot avoid. Low maintenance but effective.
Good straightforward instruction. Nothing fancy just the basics. Nicely Done ✅
This is sometimes called a belly gun. It can literally be carried in a pocket. The idea was that close range under attack, fearing for your life. You literally pointed at the person‘s Tourette or belly in a defensive situation.
If you look at some of the teenagers, especially females many seem unconfident, and this type of physical training can build confidence and potentially save their life.
That’s what we call a belly gun. I’ve got one myself. Conceals great in the front pocket of Keys bib overalls.
The punches are looking sharp shes doing good and committing with her strikes 🔥🔥
Very cool! She would be allowed to drop her right arm for more torque, as in Muay Thai and not be in any real danger, in my (amateur) opinion. Thanks for sharing!
These pistols come in a variety of colors. After training women for many years, I was under the impression that they would want a pink or blue framed pistol. I was very wrong as most of the time they wanted just simple black.
My wife carries the same but hers is pink
Please continue any insight into your experience with combative training. Bless you all.
I wouldn’t really follow through on a low kick, especially to that degree. She pretty much has her side exposed. Most of the power of the low kick is from the snap anyways and proper technique
Push Kicks are better anyways.
I love the low kick concept, but with all due respect a rear leg round house kick to the outside of the knee is a potentially dangerous play...Your daughter's roundhouse isn't strong enough to drop someone, and her tendency is to fall into her would be attacker after the kick...I would highly suggest keeping the low kick strategy but focusing more on front leg push kicks to the front of the knee and groin, front leg side kicks to the front of the knee, oblique kicks again to the front of the knee, and front or rear leg snap kicks to the groin...targeting the front of the knee and groin with front leg attacks allows for doing maximum damage while maintaining some level of distance and balance...Also your daughter wont be wearing gloves on the street during an attack. She would probably do more damage to her attacker and less damage to herself if you show her how to effectively slap with power...maybe some hammer fists...I mean absolutely no disrespect, and apologize for being forward 🙏
Thank you for your insight and you are correct at this point she does not have enough power in the kick but I plan on having her step out to the side and use a kick with a straight leg not so much like a roundhouse. She can throw good punches but once again working on technique. I would prefer a slap to the ear or elbow to the nose. Also knees to lower leg or groin very effective. We are going to build, and my goal is to prepare her for worst case scenario that we hope never happens. Avoid if possible but when you can't fight for your life. Thank you very much for your insight. God Bless You. Matt
@@mattrhodes9126She definitely has a good right straight 💯. I wish you and your daughter the best in your training, and I hope you inspire more father's to spend this particular type of time with their daughters. Good on you Sir. #Respect
If you have a concealed carry permit and you are professionally trained, do not leave home without your pistol. That being said there is a right and wrong way to carry. If you wanna learn the right way, please contact me in the Wilmington North Carolina area 910-538-2465.
The 2.0 bodyguard from what I understand is having some issues of reliability all across the country. Some have been shipped, missing parts and in many cases, a full magazine cannot be fired because there’s always a failure to feed irregardless of ammunition. My original bodyguard that I carry daily has given me no trouble and I carry it with confidence
Well that sucked. Seems like ever .380 out there, always has more kick-ups than any other caliber but maybe .25 ACP.
A gun for the unexpected
It is very unfortunate. What has happened in Wilmington, North Carolina you literally have to keep your head on a swivel because there are no longer in any “” safe areas. This is why so many Wilmington residents have become responsible for their own safety.
Having lived (S. Front St.) and gone to school in ILM (UNCW), I can tell you it's gotten a wee bit more dangerous over the years...friends still living there attest to this.
Men fear rejection women fear assault
It is important for all women, regardless of age to be able to defend themselves. When you look at human trafficking kidnapping in the United States on the rise, especially in the Wilmington North Carolina area a female needs to be able to fight and defend herself when there’s no other choice.
The 357 magnum revolver is one of the most versatile firearms ever invented. You have numerous combinations of ammunition that can fire from one gun it can be used for hunting as well as self-defense. Don’t be of the mindset that you need a semi automatic for personal safety. The revolver has done it for hundreds of years.

The shotgun in a trained person’s hands is very effective for self-defense. The problem I have encountered is that most people think they know how to use a shotgun and the reality is they do not if you’re not sure how it operates seek professional training.
A revolver is the best first gun.
If you ever listen to veteran police officers from the 60s and 70s, who used revolvers, they talk about the importance of marksmanship as you had 6 shots to stop that threat. With high capacity guns people think that they have an infinite number of bullets and therefore they do not need to train.
I am interested in revolvers. I've only used it once at the range and it was very fun to use. Maybe in the future I will purchase one and get in practice with it for self defense. Thank you for the info matt
The revolver is a reliable basic self-defense tool. The 38 Special is a good self-defense round. You do not need the hottest 38 AMO out there. Standard pressure ammunition works just fine. What do you need is practice and a solid understanding of the laws of justified self-defense for the state that you reside in.
