I’ve lived in Knoxville, Tennessee for a really long time. People here pronounce the word envelope as Ennn-velup, not en-vel-ope. They say thanksgiving as Thaaaaanksgiving with emphasis on thanks. They put salt on watermelon. They think I’m crazy to drink cider and donuts- the plain cake donuts. They think cider is a container of apple juice called cider- but it has been pasteurized, and you refrigerate after opening it. They eat grits. Grits. With butter and sugar--- I think why don’t you just eat some cream of wheat with milk and sugar. They don’t know what a pasty is (The meat, potatoes, and root vegetables inside a pastry crust). They put a lb of sugar at least for every gallon of tea. As my mom used to say, we don’t put sugar in our tea . They don’t know what bologna salad is. I hadn’t ever eaten, cornbread and pinto beans until moving to Tennessee. One cool thing they do in Tennessee is when you go camping and everyone is eating sweet corn from the fire, they put a stick of butter on a piece of bread and just pass the bread with the butter on it from person to person and each person rolls their corn around on the stick of butter, then passes the bread to the next person. Then, when everyone has butchered their corn, throw the piece of bread into the fire that way no one hast to use a knife.

This brings back so many memories. That last shot of the Corkscrew with the MA logo rolling with it has been burned into my brain since childhood LOL.

Before it was called Michigan's Adventure it was called Deer Park Fun Land. Does anyone have any video of the old Deer Park Fun Land commercials from the 1980's?

I remember riding on that Sea Dragon ride they show in the commercial. I remember it was on the edge of the water and it felt like you would fall out of the ride at any moment and plunge into the water.

I remember this jingle and commercial growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I remember Meijers used to always have coupons for discounted admission for Michigan's Adventure.
