92 peterbilt 379 with factory 6x4. I figured everyone shows how they toss them clubs so I would to. If you would like to see some more trucking content or things related to being an o/o suck as maintenance or rebuilds let me know. #6x4 #spicer #peterbilt #379
0:39 If I'm seeing this correctly, is this shift from 2nd under to 3rd under? Isn't that a pretty large jump in ratio? Based on the Spicer 6x4 ratios I found online, I would have expected to shift up to 2nd direct and 2nd over before going to 3rd under.
I am assuming this is a big Cat, but the RPM says Cummins...?
I use too marry them sticks too the dashboard in my 1980 359 3408 DITA CAT. Set it up on the $$$ Go port to port in Wyoming. See what my best time was😂😂😂😂😂
That's the way .
Keep coming back to this for the pleasure of watching it. Some guys it’s porn. Me, it’s trucks…

I never quite understood the Spicer 6x4... probably because I never drove one. I have a lot of miles in a B-61 Mack with a 15 speed Triplex though. I would think the 6x4 would give you 24 forward gears, but I see videos of guys using only 9 or 10. I guess there's a lot of overlap?
Ur windn her up past thw tork range. It wont do anymore by over revn and😮and shiftn sofast
All these “real” drivers talk about no one has pride you’re not a real Trucker if you do this or drive this steering wheel holder blah blah blah. The only thing that matters is make the right decisions on the road and getting home safe. Get off your high horses.
How do you know what combination of gears to use? I'm fascinated by twin stick, but at a complete loss as to how to choose gears. Have heard time and again that people generally skip a couple gears. See as how theres a total of 24 speeds, I'm not surprised. On the rare occasion I get truck with a 18 speed eaton, I don't even bother splitting in low range and usually start in 3rd. Only see 1 guy with a twin stick that comes in about once every 3-4 months
What's the top speed for a truck with this setup?
I freakin love this video. Just 😊a beautiful thing man. Safe travels my brother...that’s ah 379 Pete ain’t it? Nice ride.
You are smooooothh !!, that trucwill last you a long time. Good luck🍀🍀🇺🇸
Very good, done well
What is the plunger on the main? Do you have an 8 or 9 with auxiliary behind it
I dont see a plunger anywhere ?
Good job using clutch at 1:20 to make it all happen smoothly.
Start in a lower gear, that's why all those gears are there!
Don't y'all know how to just go click click and use two hands on both sticks at once ? No grinding, just very quick and smooth ? An do you know some grears are the exacty same used for climbing hills 100 rpm apart .... to gain a gear on the main ? Or to be able to drop a gear on a steep hill ....
What's this drivers radio handle "old skinny jeans"
what is the switch for
One of last twin sticks I reckon if that’s factory twin stick transmission! Few years later no more twin sticks in trucks from factory. I got twin sticks in my old A model Kenworth ‘79 3408 CAT… I want to find a ‘78 or a ‘77 W924 Kenworth heavy duty with a 3412 V12 CAT or a KTA 600 Cummins plus twin sticks in that bad boy. I’d put floaters on that big boy rub heavy haulin… old school. I’d love a big ass load of logs with truck like that
That's what I had when I started at 18 years old and still have it im retired at 67 many years in trucking
West Texas ten speed! Ya don’t need it but it sure is fun once you learn to dance with it. Large car pumped up cat and 3:55 on tall rubber good for an honest 90

Shifting a twin stick is definitely an art form
Hey! you left out all the grinding noise.
Very smooth shifting there!
😂😂😂 So ein Scheiss 😂😂😂 wo zu hat er den kompakten bequemen Schalter zerlegt in zwei 😂😂😂 wie in 80 Jahren Schalter .... totaler Quatsch.
Never seen a video with smoother shifts
Nice, smooth changes... The steering wheel is really cool!
I miss you baby brother RIP
what happened to him?
Boy that's some cool stuff....I would love to get my hands on a 1241 for my w900a
Has anybody heard from Dustin ? I am the guy that sold him this 91 379. He has not posted any videos in a long time. Hoping he is ok. Thanks

This guys good!
All fun and ganes with the Spicer until those linkages line up and lock together. Then you gotta pull it over and crawl under it with a crow bar and force those linkages loose so you can move again lol Good job, truck driver.
It's very good, you're master of shifting!
Nice and easy, need to get tires balanced, forty plus years here. I know that cab shake. Well done on the gears! 👍
Dustin have not seen any new videos. Hope the old girl is ok.
yay a real twin ...theirs like a billion fake twin videos up on youtube now lol... high low range selectors turned into secondary sticks is so lame
Brings back memories.
And notice how he doesnt use both hands on shifters?? Proof once again that you don’t “have to” do it that way and it’s just dangerous
Dustin all your videos are a year old. Did you sell the old girl?
OUTSTANDING. Well Done. ! 🇺🇸🏆👍
Damn that sounds good 😊👍
Auxiliary and main 🙋
If they still used these transmissions maybe the drivers wouldnt have time to be riding down the road texting
The twin sticks should be used on natural gas trucks
Peterbilt 379??
No clutch, very impressive
That is one smooooth shifting driver
That ol girl sounds good.. I would be proud driving her.. Good job bud!!
and he is sitting on the floor..
