Tamiya 1/32 Spitfire Mk.IXc Pt3 Final Weathering
The last part of my Spit build. It was a fun challenge to build something of this size and weather it. The kit is a dream!

wow, awesome😃 great work, one of the best 1:1000 Excelsior i ever seen, love your deflector, well done😍
What a lovely job you've done on this. Something to inspire me for the 1:24 Airfix Spit Mk.IX that I'll get around to sometime in 2025. Subscribed
Thanks for the kind words. Enjoy your build.
First time visiting your channel. The build and presentation deserves more views and likes. Almost 200 operations flown in twelve months, J.E. Johnson wrote in his book, 'Wing Leader' that the plane was battered and weathered but good for many more flights. I have built two of this kit and five of the Tamiya 1/32 WW2 models. All are impressive, the Mosquito and Corsairs are exceptionally good. Because of that I opted for 1/24 Airfix Mk.IXcs. Built one as EN398 JE-J and MA585 KH-B, in flight represented as they may have looked in late summer 1943. There is a official RAF training film on preparing/painting airplanes featuring Spitfires posted on my channel along with reveal videos of the models I built since returning to the hobby in 2018 after forty years if interested.
@@SEMJW thanks!
would be difficult in 1/1000 scale to find out where all the windows go. I know Pike's ship was a different layout than Kirk's production model. Pike's Captain's quarters was in a curved set meaning located at the outer rim of the saucer somewhere. That means the ship was much smaller than the production variant. the walls curved in interior sets. the bridge was taller.
This is awesome. I’m thinking about doing the same with the windows (drilling them out) but am worried about taking off bits of the decal accidentally- are the decals ok once they’re on? Are they likely to rip when I try drilling into em? Thanks!
@@cha02psc I clear coated them with aqua gloss before drilling out. You will get a bit of decal chipping, but the clear coat really helps.
Fun fact i learned in the world of automotive lighting that i took into my modeling is to out the same color led behind the color painted you wanted to shine. Example: you have red tail light lenses, put a red LED instead of white, same with the nacelles. White shines all the colors of the spectrum and all colors are filtered out except the lens color chosen. It allows you to use a dimmer colored bulb vs a brighter white one. Then theres a whole other side of cancelling colors out. What makes the hobby so cool. Beautiful kit, keep up the great work
Looking good! 👍😊
@@MoonwalkerModels cheers
This is amazing!! I would have loved some commentary, but great model either way
Well Done!!!
Sweet!!
Cheers
Great detail painting! 👍👍🙂
Thanks
Brilliant. If you could now put all that in a fish tank, water and air bubbles, that would be perfect.
Ha! Yeah, I did think about it!
Its a Chinese copy of the Doyusha kit and is inferior shouldve taken the time to narrow the windows and angle the frames
Best version of Revell HMS Victory so far at TH-cam. Continue the good work. I got a lot of good tips regarding getting the backside of the ship to shine. It is a very little scale for many to get this painted good. I am looking forward to see how you manage the problem with they very plastic lookalike sails. :-)
Very Disappointing presentation...as you didnt enen research the subject matter. You did a lack luster interior , you left the windows the wrong shape, left most of the toy like features on it, ie the the rear dive planes tilts, but spent more effort on back drop than the actual model...but unfortunately you even got the paint scheme wrong by not painting the torpedoe tubes midnight blue and edging the rear cabin fins edges in silver😢..plus you didn't even add any replacement decals either....have you even seen stingray?...
I'm interested as to why you chose not to use a wash to blacken the drainage holes from the main hull. I found blackening the holes added to the effect of the boat.
Didn't think about it.....
Nice work! 👍🏼 Wish I had the patience for model building, but I’m more of a buy pre-made kits kind of guy. I just purchased the Bandai Saturn V rocket, and have it on display on my desk. Love anything Apollo and the Atlantic War.

Thank you for sharing your skills and expertise. I recently purchased this kit at a toy show. I am watching your video project with interest. I hope to learn a lot about building this kit. Thanks again.
brilliant
cheers
Thanks for bringing this slide show. As I watch, I have to say…I wish modelers would put some additional time in the presentation of their models…..a poorly done base just detracts.
Really cool model show 👍
I am in awe at the skill of all of these modellers. Thank you for bringing us an insight into the incredible talent on display.
Glad you enjoyed.
Jim still alive is he ? Jim Bowman i think that's his last name, 1/700 ships and he was a master at building
I'm not sure, didn't get a chance to talk to anyone on the display. Stunning work though!
@@theidlehandsmodeller Thank you for the reply, i have not been to Telford in 10 or more years
love the cancelled projects display . excellent show thanks for sharing with us !
Yep, fantastic stuff all round.
Very cool!
Really cool model show. 👍
It was indeed.
Really good slideshow, (no blasting funky music) The only thing I dislike, is this shows me the amount of stuff i missed when i walked around the halls 😆 Thank you for sharing 😁🤗
Glad you liked n tell me about it, I've watched other videos and thought the same!!!! So many kits, so little time.
Thanks for sharing - my first show but seemed a great one to me
Same here, I loved it.
.....множество блестящих работ!..
Thank you for sharing, excellent pictures and beautiful background music, a pleasure to watch.
Glad you like it.
The Modern British Armour SIG always has a wonderful display. The cut away Flower class Corvette was very interesting. Just never enough helicopters..... Very impressive workmanship on display there. Thanks for posting.
All the SIG's were awesome, a bunch of some very talented people!
Thank you for sharing. Great pics, not rushed so enough time to savour, topped off with soothing music! 😊
Glad you enjoyed.
Well done

Brilliant modelling work. Watching the video was epic. Thanks for posting it.

Always loved this show, havent been able to go due to health so thanks for sharing. Much appreciated
Hope you get to go again!
I don't think there are any shows near me, sadly. This is a great cross section of work though - thank you for sharing. My personal favourites were: The Pagodo Diorama @ 11:37 Thunderbird 1 @ 15:00 The Black & White Spitfire @ 15:05
No worries, yes, that spit was different!
Never finished mine 😮💨
I never knew there was an Enterprise kit with the Botany Bay. That's cool.
Which colours have choose for the body, i mean which types of grey?
Tamiya XF paints - sky grey mixed with light sea grey. I can't remember the ratio though.
What size pipe did you use with center of the pipe hallowed out for the wires to go through to the battery
6mm albany alloys.
That's really great for the 1/2500. I was disappointed when I received mine and realized there were no clear parts. Ended up finding a 1/1400 and am so pleased with how it's coming out.... drilling out over 400 windows tho😅
Cheers! Yeah, I know what you mean... good luck.
❤❤❤❤ прекрасно собрана и окрашена!
Thanks
great job very cool
Thanks.
Keep an eye on the Airfix channel and lobby them for a decent version at every opportunity!
I've been doing that for a while.
@@tonybmw5785 Good stuff - I tried to get the Fanderson fan club involved but they couldn't even be bothered to reply..
Do you remember what Resistors you used for the Red LED's in the Warp Engine Bussards ?
If memory serves, 390 Ohm.
Cool model.
Cheers.
That's a really nice job! I've had one of these on the shelf for years that I'd like to have a go at. I've only lit one model before though, the Revell Voyager and that was a while ago- I've just ordered a slightly smaller clear one that I can practice on before trying anything this fiddly!
Thanks and good luck!
What was the actual colours you used
tamiya XF sky blue, deep sea blue and flat yellow. Alklad aluminium
Looks great! How big is it?
Thanks. About 12 inches long and 6 inches wide.
