Great Blue Heron vs Electric Fencing

This bird eat most of my koi fish, until I installed an electric fence around it. I hope he flew south for the winter months to migrate, he sure has enough fuel in his stomach for a round trip then some….

    You could put a shade sail over the top and it would probably prevent any further birds from seeing your pond. That's what I did.

    A Heron ate 8 of my favorite koi out my backyard pond. I smoked him, went from eating the fishes to sleeping with the fishes!

      Thank you Paul for the suggestion, that option does not work Canada! I was considering hitting with a green paintball to see I was dealing with only one bird..the paintball itself maybe enough too spook it off for good.

  • @Firegarden999

    If the goal is to kill the heron, you should just use an air gun. It’s cheaper and much more fun.

    They prefer froggs. These herons always eat our favorites and prettiest fish first...boohoo.. Mine were first one then 2..they only had 2 meter to fly off..was enough..and ate 18 big kois, goldfish..fast movers too ..all in 2 sessions of fishing...at 5am

    Hi, I'm planning a video on my channel about pond predators, and wondered if I could use some of this video in it? I would obviously give credit, both during the video and in the description. Best regards, Andy

    • @droneoptics411
      @droneoptics411 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andy, you have my blessing to use any part of this this video as you wish. I'm gathering by most of the comments that this electric fence didn't work. My intentions were to use this method from fall until spring, I've only had to use it the one season because this bird did not return.
