We enjoyed Patti’s and their sister restaurant across the street. We will return to the Kentucky Lake in May to explore the area more. Wonderful cruising area. I was amazed with the speed of the current. I drove boats on the east coast and never saw a current that fast except for the York River in Yorktown, East River and the Hudson. In NYC.

I had a great time in Alton. Bus transportation, bike trails and so much to see. I walked over 30 miles by myself and felt safe. Enjoyed yoga, shopping and the restaurants. You have a beautiful history city. Thanks for watching.

I have my kayak paddle. We were a quarter mile up the creek in a big boat. Amazing it was 20feet deep and a beautiful anchorage.

Sorry about that. Recording video underway with an iPhone sometimes I move too fast.

We have Samsung smart tv that came with the boats. It has hundreds of channels though my husband watches Alone. Since 2009 I haven’t had cable just the tv antenna and a few channels with three being PBS. I’ve been watching TH-cam since 2020 on my phone. The Starlink is amazing. Only disconnects in the locks or when we are near the marina’s metal roof. To replace our WiFi antenna it was $800 and it was good for streaming. Though it was cellular based. Starlink unit was $299 and $165 a month. We use the chart plotter, navionics app on the iPad, two cell phones streaming and I’m usually on my laptop editing. Starlink is a workhorse on the boat. We are paying more though the reliability for navigation is 💯% worth the money. Yes I can navigate old school with a compass stop watch and paper charts. I moved forward if I’m heading to the stars 🌟

It’s a game changer no longer need to use the marina WiFi except if we are next to the metal roof at the marina. The river system has many areas of zero coverage. So thankful we have Starlink. Thanks for watching.

We will head west at Mobile heading to New Orleans then on to Texas for the winter. We have been taking about returning to Kentucky and Tennessee for Summer 2025. Didn't know Midway was right there at Fulton Lock or would have driven through to see if anyone there. Gonna take the wife off the Interstate to see White Cliffs of Epes. I've seen them from the bridge before

Last November crossing I20 we looked for Loopers. I didn’t realize we would be going under the same bridge almost a year later. The White Cliffs of Epes will be Epic. I’ve only seen pictures. Have a wonderful time in Texas with your daughter for Thanksgiving.

Have insurance, but GC we talked to and want to use said we're looking at a long time before he (or anyone) can get to it. Total destruction in Augusta. I was awful to look at. Wife and I got off lucky.

Thanks for watching. I have a video of us going under the 95th street bridge. I didn’t know it was famous. Had to go back and watch a video clip of the Blues Brothers jumping the bridge. I recorded leaving the Thomas J O’Brien Lock. They have bee hives sitting on the west side I thought was so neat. Thankfully we were able to cruise into the lock without a wait. We really enjoyed the Calumet River. So many bridges.

He backed down from his slip to the fuel dock. Wouldn’t want to pay the fuel bill.

We plan to live aboard the next four to five years. We are going off the Loop to head West to Texas for the winter instead crossing our wake in Key West. Then resuming the Loop in 2025. Future might see us on the River System in Tennessee or the Chesapeake. Definitely cruising to the Bahamas. So many beautiful places to see.

The cooling towers make a scary noise. I’m sure it’s a normal release of steam noise but that night the swells were coming in, the sailboats banging on the dock then we had to leave the wall it was sensory overload in survival mode. Thanks for the information and watching our videos.

@@UnderwayDriftingNDreaming That place is always moving, unfortunately. But It sounds like it will be shutting down in the next few years. It's been running since the 1930s. Hopefully the next time you guys come though it will be better! I believe the city is becoming more aware of the attraction of the loop, and hopefully will start moving to become more of a stop.

Aqua Maps USACE Survey. It is constantly uploaded with new surveys. The app is great for the low water pool of the river and the ICW.
