Shoegaze was a fun description! Not only did it describe the visual performance from these kinds of bands, but it also kind of spoke to the more introvert kid, who might be a pretty solid target for this sort of music in the first place. I myself totally got the idea that I too could perform onstage even though I'm not born with that outgoing over the top persona that the traditional "rock star" attitude implies. By happenstance, it's a sort of genius term really. Very liberating.

I’d like to add that shoegaze did NOT emerge in England- it began in IRELAND by a band called My Bloody Valentine, this band created the whole genre of shoegaze. People need to get their facts straight.

I was at this show front row, if I recall it was 1994 and that’s Ride headlining. The stage rotated slowly.

Neil is a doppelganger for a younger "whispering" Bob Harris of Old Grey Whistle Test fame, right down to the chiller than chill demeanor.

I think nothing beats the studio version, idk maybe it’s just me.. it lost its ambient feel in the live version.

Neil is so light and big and relaxed, the very aura of this person is true. Their input is so huge. Also, the 13th Floor Elevators ref is very clear, both the music and biography.

Rachel has a sort of coarse voice, and I think she has always had it. It is so strange that she can sing in sucha siren range.

One of the best songs on that album, 2nd record, never heard it till I bought it. Amazing on how so much tasteless music get on the airwaves. This to me was their hit, besides ‘Some Kind Of Angel.’ Just an opinion though.
