I would suggest there should also be some information included about outdoor firepits in the video as well or a complementary video could be created. I believe it is especially important to communicate this type of information given the wildfires that were observed across Canada in 2023. A video could educate owners about the need for authorization of a firepit as part of an STA License and the specifics of where they can be located on a property (e.g., the firepit should be at least 25 feet away from property lines, etc.). It could also highlight what renters should be aware of when using them (e.g., they should not be left unattended). Also, potential fines associated with by-law contraventions could be identified to make people aware of the consequences of failing to comply with by-laws that relate to outdoor fires. Communicating this type of information would be consistent with the STA Objective "Ensuring STA Operators are made aware of their responsibilities to comply with Town by-laws and other regulations" and would make the Town of the Blue Mountains a safer place.
