Thanks for the update. Congrats on your hyacinth blooms, I didnt get any this year. Was surprised to see you already preparing the pond for the winter. Here in PEI, we still have at leaat another month of nice weather, wont be preparing until at least mid October. Cant blame ypu to move and avoid our winters, it sounds like a great idea!
normally i would wait until oct but with future not knowing i would rather do it now to be safe then rushed later

I still dream and watch TH-cam. I won’t have my pond ready this year, but I have started building an indoor tank (1000 gal). Planning to grow a few over winter.

Now that I'm retired, I spend most of my day by the pond, or in the screened in room right next to the pond. At least 8 hours :)

I enjoy all my koi. I have a mix of PetSmart and Japanese, about 50/50 and love them all.
exactlymost of mine came from a farm of a friend when he sold the farm he gave my over 300 mixed breeds

mate its like a 5 hour flight to the holy grail of koi breeders lol i think this is going to be epic lol i have a gf there she cant wait for me to come back the only problom with her is she thinks she can eat them so 2ponds 1 for me and one for her food lol

Sorry about the leak in your pond, not best way to start weekend. Hope the wall collapse is the cause of the leak and not the result of the leak. It should be a quick fix if that was the problem.

Sorry to hear about Waldo, hope he comes back. I cant believe how much your garden is advanced compared to mine! My peas are just blooming now and the cucumbers are just starting to climb, no blooms yet.
Well Waldo disappeared last Sept and came back thus spring but he's been in neighbors yard and out by the road lol and yeah I'm amazed how far everything is I will be eating green beans and peas in a week lol
Water looks really good, and your garden is so far ahead of mine, wow!
Mate this is the first year being like this I'm going to do a water test this week to see how the water is hopefully its where it should be

so cool did that with a 100 gal tank but left enough room at the top for air pocket for mosquito to hatch fish love it
only two flaws with mosquitos to hatch they have no way to get in to lay and they dont like moving water i have never seen any mosquito larvee in the pond i saw my catfish today and waldo the turtle is back now i need to find some frogs but yeah i love the condoand i will put some plants on top to kinda shade to avoid algea growth in there
Pond and koi are looking great! Your water is really clear as well, the bog is doing it's job! I had my feet up by the pond on Saturday, but it was a bit cool here yesterday. Beautiful sunny day here today, so more booties in the air in my near future :)

haha always a comedian in the crowd the gut who gave it to me said it blew up driving it out of garage not five minutes running as for the recovery well that could be a good one i be up to my neck in water lol
Yeah, you can tell it hasnt worked at all, paint still on the augers, its like new.
String algae the bane of every pond keeper's life 💯🧁👍👍👍

Crazy how things have warmed up over there. Once pond is thawed out, I will go around and brush off the string algae with my toilet brush on a stick. Takes me a few minutes and its all gone and the koi will take care of any future string algae once they get active. I prefer not using dyes just cause I prefer clear water for my UW camera, but I can see how that works quite well too.
im too lazy to brush but i use so little die u hardly notice it and will be gone bt summer and clear again but some people newbees need a little help in getting rid of it
Hydrogen peroxide, .99 cents at Walmart. All natural, no chemicals. Exact dosage is on the Internet. That's what I use. I'm sure yours works well too. So many wonderful products to choose from. Glad you're able to get a jump start on it early. Great update 😊
exactly and with mine just a few caps full and your done waalk away some people do not do well with dosages and well make a mess to put it lightly lol but yeah peroxide worksi think u would need 10 bottles for my pond lol

Wow, way ahead of us down here on east coast. I checked today and there's at least 3' of snow on top of pond and 1.5' of ice, so wont see water or koi fpr at least another month. Nice to see that yours is all thawed out. Sorry for the koi, but it happens.

i knew you would injoy this and its small this year haha but with temps about freeing now and rain here koi eason will soon be here for me

@@grumpybearhuskiesandkoi3323 I use a stock tank deicer to keep an opening and a cery small circulating pump just below the surface, I can’t see my fish till the ice melts, anywhere from mid April to early May
@@peacefulpasturessanctuar-qc2fe normally i do not see any koi until mid march but i have so much open water now i see them every day and today was a treat about 2 dozen were swimming in the shallows

if the weather stays like this no volcano this year its sad i look forward to it lol this is my first year having this clear water i must be doing something right haha
