I come from the future! the anime flopped like crazy, it shows that they feared the controversy surrounding the author and put as little effort as possible. A lot of still shots, the cinematography is on par with your average romcom LN adaptation and all the money they could scrap they poured it into the fights wich, even though the animation rocks, the direction, music and tone are absolutely off. The og anime had A LOT of problems with exposition and still shots, a thing that this version took and dialed them up to 11 and beyond. The voice acting and the fidelity to the story are good tho

Would've been satisfying if the humans the same people who exterminated the witches were in a humiliation conga possibly having a mental breakdown in season 2 of this anime.

I’m so glad they fixed the dub. It’s so much better in the new one. I remember when they used to call Kaoru “Kori”. And Sanosuke “Sanosookee”.. honestly killed me every time I tried to watch the dub.

SPOILERS I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think I personally agree. Was it a little cheap to introduce a new character as Seven's replacement? I do think it was a bit too sudden, but I do think the fact that Seven is already fighting his replacement means they're getting closer to the end. Also, the show has never had the fastest pacing, just look at season 1, which barely has any major plot progression, so I don't think the show is being dragged out, per se but it definitely needs its time. And considering the position the protagonists are in, the next season could be pretty story-heavy. The leader has three concerns: Green Phoenix, Thirteen and Seven. He's captured Green Phoenix and at the end of Season 5, he has come face to face with Thirteen and is about 50m away from Seven, who's up against three assassins he has no chance against, so those two are definitely getting captured. Honestly, I'm just really hoping that Season 6 is gonna focus on Thirteen, since she has one of the most interesting stories imo. Also on the point of pacing, there are still quite a few storylines that need to be wrapped up, such as Cola's cancer, Quan and Jiang's relationship, Green Phoenix's revenge (and possible demise), Thirteen's training (and defeating her father) and Seven managing to find a healthy balance between his past and present selves (he kinda already did, but he doesn't remember everything yet, so that's not done yet). Sorry for the rant, I absolutely love this show and can't wait to see how it continues, really glad some people talk about this amazing show

Where do you watch season 5?

I think Seven vs Nine was the best fight of the entire series. The parallels between the two characters was amazing. That coupled with Seven’s character development throughout this season was beautiful. In ep 2 he grapples with his memories of his assassin training and losing control/being a danger to those around him. But in episode 4, he recalls his old character development and the impact of the Thumbs Up guy on his own journey. He realizes that his past wasn’t all negative, and that he could choose to turn his back on the Leader’s influence, as we now know he did once before. He goes out of his way to save all of the people on the flying sword, proving to Ouyang Zan and himself that he is a hero at heart. Episode 9 hits HARD. Seven’s backstory is revealed, and it’s a dark one. He was used and abused by the Leader, and betrayed once he grew his own conscience over time. He turned his back on his assassin conditioning to save the girl, but she ended up being a plant from the Leader anyway. After such a bitter betrayal, the Monk determined that the only reason Seven should be in Xuanwu is for revenge and hate, against those who betrayed him. He makes the miscalculation that none of Seven’s feelings were real, and he thinks Seven should have died to be put out of his misery. But Seven realizes that some of the girl’s love was real, because she gave him the poison to make his lose his memory, hoping he would survive and start a new life. Seven reflects on his past then with gladness, that he was given a wonderful opportunity to begin anew. He decides then to move forward embracing both sides of his personality now that he sees the full picture. This pays off in episode 10 when he uses the totality of his personality to fight Nine.

tbh kazuya should really just confess and atleast try to make the relationship serious because all im seeing is him following around a girl thats too scared to confess, besides that i can tell chizuru likes kazuya but doesnt know how to confess.

I relate to Mob so much as a character from a Neurodivergent perspective. I struggled in social situations in school, things other people do that seem effortless don't come naturally to me. it takes a lot of work and trial and error to get to the baseline of what is considered remotely socially acceptable. this doesn't mean I have no good qualities, or am not better than the average person at certain things. It makes me no better or worse than any other person. my actions and efforts define me, not just what's on the surface. Mob feeling isolated before he began to really build relationships is extremely relatable. if you have Autism, ADHD, both or a similar condition. you tend to always be the odd one out in any given situation. either everyone notices you in a bad way, or you just kinda fade into the background. Mob's psychic powers are very parallel to the neurodivergent experience. Obviously we aren't these psychic superheros. but we have hypersensitivity to our environment, and paradoxically a lack of sensitivity in other ways. Mobs powers come from his emotions, his buildup meter feels very familiar to me whenever I have a lot of stimuli overwhelming me, whether positive or negative. and once I hit the point of a meltdown, shutdown, or outburst, I am physically spent, just like mob after hitting 100 percent. but the way Mob moves through life, the bounds he creates, it's encouraging, and this is the reason my MP100 is in my top ten for favorite anime.

In Japanese culture honor and forgiveness are big. When a person has paid their debt to society majority of Japanese people forgive and move forward. I believe the creator paid his debt to society(he literally accepted his wrong doing and paid the penalty which was almost 10K in US dollars). If the show affects your conscious don’t watch it.

Being faithfull to the manga the new one is far better, except for the soundtrack, openings & endings. That is were the wheels fell off.
