Out of all the versions of this song I've heard, this is my favorite. It is so clean and beautiful and captures the emotion behind the scene. Absolutely wonderful!

I played the premiere of these pieces in Carnegie Recital Hall with soprano Mary Elizabeth Poore in 1989. Lots of sopranos have done them since, and really well. I played a really good rendition of them in North Carolina with Carla LeFevre a few years ago, and I recorded them with Terry Rhodes. But there's not been a more touching interpretation than this one. Brava Adelaide!
