มุมมอง 3.1K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Took my son up to Bonneville dam to do some Shad fishing for his first time, needless to say he had a Blast reeling in fish after fish. We caught 30-40 in just a few hours fishing with a CORKY and 2/0 Hook. Found this works very well for shad as you will see in the video. See you on the water!

    1 1/4 Oz weight on a 1/8 to 3/4 rod?? My question is can you use a heavier bomber and weight then the recommandations of the rod??

    Does it have to be a center pin rod? I have seen were guys says can use the pin or spinning reel on either spinning rods or pin rods both ways is this true? For example if I get a center pin can I put it on a spinning rod to start with?

    The only problem I see, not with the bc cast but rather I would have liked you to review your setup as well. Things like mainline, weighting etc. Also, I see your setup is with slip floating. So, you can see, there are question concerning the setup VERSUS the great lake regions. I think the next video should be on WHY you setup that way and advantages versus the split shot setup! Thank you...Mike Hope to see you on the river since I live here in Oregon.

      Thanks for the comment, I will make a video in the coming weeks explaining a full breakdown on the set up. Including re spooling main line, sliding set up vs fixed float set up etc so stay on the look out for that one! 🤙

      Centerpin, bait caster or spinning reel you can send them all the same distance… it’s just about who’s got common courtesy or not. If no one’s around worry about nothing, but if ppl are around yeah don’t send it one mile down river lol 😂

    Great lakes guy, northeast Ohio to be specific, so i tend to fish smaller rivers. The only ones anywhere close to what youre standing by is closer to the lake. Just ordered a Pinland by bloodrun, its lighter and pretty much the same dimensions of my rod ive been using, just a little nicer and can use a pin or spinning reel. I was wondering what your opinion was of the Okuma Sheffield? I really don't want to spend much more than $200 or so, making that reel at $220 the most i can spend. The only reason i bought the rod when i did was to avoid dropping nearly 400 bucks at once. Hopefully whatever i get i can buy in September or early October and learn how to use it on smallmouth before steelhead. Any advice appreciated thank you for taking the time to make videos like this

      The Sheffield is good reel I just like the okuma raw color combo. Shef is kinda plain in my opinion. More centerpin videos to come soon so stay tuned! What did you end up getting?

    So i havent centerpin fished yet, but how you casted that, how come that is the first time im seeing that. why do i see all this double handed bs. Why are they implying that isnt doable? I dont see why you couldnt just cast it like normal?

      Stock. And they have been holding up great. I clean my reel after a couple uses for longevity of reel. I also change my line often, new line floats better I generally run one season line then change

    Great video, liked and subbed ! I have the same reel, but the start up time is slow, that is if i leave the reel to free spool it take some time before it gains proper momentum, some other centerpin i have seen spins fast immediately as you lift off the finger, could you please help me on how to adjust the reel ?

    • @stevensmith2085
      @stevensmith2085 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that’s just the way certain bearings are in some reels, or bushings. I don’t know the actual internals in that reel. I know certain fly drags do the same when it sticks at first until the momentum builds, except Larson reels with the different drag style.

    • @ReelHookdOutdoors360
      @ReelHookdOutdoors360 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching! Sorry for delay response! any improvements on your reel? I always take mine apart, clean and re grease certain spots to maintain good internals every few months.
