I went to see E.T. in 1982. The part where they shock E.T. with the defibrillator hit me hard even then as a 9 year old boy. Then little Gertie's face and watching her jump as they are shocking him with tears in her eyes as she was watching E.T. die. That still fucks with me even as a grown man. I think I jumped a bit, too as I was sitting there in the theater watching this movie.
