Cool. A great description of the right screw for the job. I wouldn't have thought about just using a sharp screw for lighter gauge steel. A great guide for the many choices in screws.

Just finished a commercial job where we install 30x50 heavy duty reinforced 1/2-in backer board that supports cabinets up to 300 plus pounds when fully loaded. I normally use hex head self-tapping bolts with the Milwaukee 18-volt driver similar to your setup in the video on setting torque setting #1, but still intermittently stripping. I'm having to take the extra time and trouble to then go with 1/2 inch hole to install toggler bolts which is a real pain and slow. Looking to find self-tapping screws that bite and can support the weight without easily stripping on #1 setting.

What kind of nails did you use? I would like to do the same on a build just can’t figure out what I need to attach osb to metal studs

How do you prevent over driving them with an impact driver? I have been drilling a pilot hole because I couldn’t get them started otherwise and then even driving them in with a screw driver by hand it feels like I can barely tighten it up without over driving. I hate metal studs

How to fix the metal channel into concrete wall or floor, is it possible to screw directly without having to predrill and having to need a rawl plug? I want to drill / fix into the concrete with ‘one pass’ if possible
