5 mins 10 sec's, Noel mentioned Lunt and Fontanne, the famous acting duo in USA. There is a substantial Wikipedia entry about them😊 . They had a place called "Ten Chimneys" , now a treasured centre ref ' drama.😊⭐📖 🦉Carol Burnett and Harvey Korman did several " mickey-takes" ( I'm sure made affectionately) with parody theatre stars, " Lunt and Fontaine ", in the Carol Burnett Show " .🇬🇧😊⭐🦉 🇬🇧🌈💙⭐😊📖🇬🇧

Ive come back after some time, to watch it again. Everyone was very competent. Memorable bits : ( don't mind me. I notice the ' visuals "): The set is just right. Very nicely done The bit of " business" " Ggary" smoothing his hair when passing the mirror , the " creepy " playwright ( gushes, "I think you're WONDERFUL !" ), and that lovely door, with sea view. Have also heard this play on the radio .😊... And the bit about over- acting ...." Now you have GONE TOO FAR !!!"😊. What a treat.😊⭐🏆 🇬🇧😊📖⭐💙🌈🇬🇧

There is nothing on the stage today to compare with this. I LOVED it!! My only regret is not seeing it live on stage 😢😢. Im in Australia and i know that if this play was presented here, it would pale into insignificance compared to this older English version.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing the play a couple of time. One performance had the highlight of Edward Fox playing the Valet, always a superb performance, and the other with Rik Mayall as the lead. Rik, was Rik. If you’ve saw him on stage, you’ll know what I mean. Very funny, kept the cast guessing as to what he was going to do next, and a lot of playing to the audience. Especially when flicking the v’s to the audience when he fluffed a line. It was less than conventional but hilarious.

I stood in front of one of his paintings, almost exactly like the one at 50:00, and it was really intense, I stood right in front of it and it was just coming right at me, 3 dimensional and super alive. It was one of the best they had, at the museum of Modern Art in New York. His and the Picasso's really stood out to me as the most interesting and exciting in the entire museum

Despite the naive view about feelings being necessary to work with people Noel coward demonstrates the aloof science of theatre

He's an okay actor, no John Barrymore et al.. as Orson Welles said about Barrymore, there is none like him the best and had that certain thing. I think Coward is better as a raconteur.

This is by far the best production of Present Laughter that I have seen (and I've seen a few)! I keep watching it every year! Donald Sinden and the four female leads are just superb - unmatched really!

I enjoyed this. Donald Sinden; brilliant. How do they remember all the lines? All the acting is very good. The script is wonderful.

Captured me when that sailor went overboard and they couldn't save him. This music has held me ever since.

I love Abstract Expressionism but I have to say that I'm glad that the Pop Artists came along and turned the tough, drunken cowboy, John Wayne with a paintbrush ideal into a subject of mockery. That sort of insecurity about maintaining a sense of manhood in what was considered an effete profession is just really a massive waste of time and energy. The AbEx painters had a lot of great ideas and I wish people would have focused more on their philosophies and not on how rowdy and aggressive they were when they drank.
