Aspen Plus - Production of Ethyl Acetate (Equilibrium Reaction & CSTR)
In this screencast, we simulate the production of ethyl-acetate from acetic acid and ethanol. The reaction is an equilibrium limited reaction with Keq of 4.5. Then, we perform sensitivity analysis to observe how reaction conversion changes as a function of CSTR reactor volume.

Aspen Plus - Flue Gas Desulfurization Process (Limestone Wet Scrubbing)
มุมมอง 1.6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this screencast, we will simulate SO2 removal from flue gas using limestone slurry feed as absorbent in Aspen Plus. Flue gas containing 2000 ppm of SO2 will enter an absorption column (modelled using RadFrac block). The rising flue gas will meet with the falling limestone slurry feed in the column. Electrolyte chemical reaction will happen inside the column resulting in removal of SO2 from t...

Hi how do you calculate the molar flowrate of CaCO3
Please, could you share the link of the file in this video?
trimakasih atas sharingnya
please send it this research paper
Hi, Can you share all the PDFs used in the video? It would be extremely helpful for me.
You may use this link to download the books (www.pdfdrive.com/) For reference/journal use may use sci-hub website
You said there is a better approach to calculate the length than trial and error. Could you help with this as early as possible?
You may use design spec function (vary the length of the reactor to get target conversion. Hope this helps
dr, if we are producing mixture of solid and liq, can we used this method?
not sure though...maybe u can..u need to review your thermodynamic property n see whether it is accurate or not to represent liquid phase as well

Hi, do you understand how to set up RGIBBS reactor as counter-current reactor?
Hello, I have never tried it so far. But what you can do is use a series of interconnected RGibbs (maybe 5 or 6 block) and enter feed into reactor 1 and another feed enter at reactor 5 (or six). Maybe this link help. Hope I answer your question books.google.com.my/books?id=WDVldP9YUPkC&pg=PA254&lpg=PA254&dq=counter+current+reactor+aspen&source=bl&ots=zd3Y55KuLR&sig=ACfU3U0qFIxXSPDtjH48BVut5Uhi8SBCXg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjmicHW64PqAhV1muYKHRsbDJYQ6AEwCXoECAgQAQ#v=onepage&q=counter%20current%20reactor%20aspen&f=false
@@jabatankejuruteraankimiada4612 Thank you for your response. Basically, I was asking this due to that reference and I cannot change it to a counter-current reactor.
@@LeakIrengNow that I think about it, you might be right..ok then, how about you put component separator in between the RGIBBS to separate the species (output of RGIBBS) prior entering the next block..?
@@MohamadReziAbdulHamid Nope, it doesn't work. I tried it and the RGIBBS can only receive input as cocurrent (1 side only). [It seems that I misinterpreting the reference. In a series of RGIBBS, output from the next reactor can be used as input for previous reactor. That, will make it as countercurrent.]
Dr, the three block just an option right?
I general yes..but I prefer Radfrac because I can size the column and get all the dimension (e.g., diameter, tray distance, type of trays, weir height, etc.) and many other things..I use DSTWU first to get initial guess of the condition before i use radfrac..Hope this helps
