Locks are for bike thefts that are not planned.. so your locks should be strong enought to withstand theft without any tools.. If thief have tools.. it’s game over.. nothing stops angel grinder..

I got this bike for £643 on an Amazon deal in July 24 and assembled it without issue, it has been used every day and have had zero problems with it. Of course it needs to be cleaned, oiled and maintained like any bike. For me a 5 star rating.

Hey, I'm interested in your opinion. I'm in the market for a used bike to cruise around the city and the occasional longer ride. Currently available in my area for 240 and 280 euros respectively are this hoprider 500 and a peugeot T02 D7. Wondering if you have an opinion on the Peugeot and wether it's worth the little extra dough. It was worth 2-300 more new than the decathlon one. Is it much better quality? Cheers

Does rain run down your back causing your pants, bottom, to still get wet?

The bikes are very old and will be replaced with a new system in the next years. However, I use them regularly and for shorter trips, they're really okay. Definitely worth getting the battery. It will realistically only give you around 5-6km, but that's enough for most commutes and as hilly as Brussels is and as heavy as the bikes are, it really helps a lot. For the price, they're pretty great. A month is less than a single ride on a Lime etc.

3:06 - only muppets buy a bike worth thousands of euros and then lock it up in public places for people to steal, no debate, end of story. They deserve what they get. 3:14 if you actually train yourself to be minimally strong with a paltry few gym sessions you can carry a 4kg chain and padlock around your shoulders or waist with little inconvenience. So the moral of the video is: don't be an overprivileged consumer of unnecessarily expensive luxury bikes, and secondly dont be a weedy weakling and carry a decent chain on your person.

Your not cutting through even a moderate 3t manganese link (7mm or greater) with a hack saw unless you have tons of blades and hours to do so.

There are 3 types of thief: no tools; small tools; big tools. This lock is good for the first two and no lock is good for the third.

You mean an angle grinder not circular saw mate but I wouldn’t consider one of these to begin with.

Looking like a stronger tiewrap..more like locking Wheel to frame etc or indeed more like locking loose parts as the raincover of a Cargo bike..to prevent quick thefts

Have you tried the Granit Super Extreme 2500 and the Granit Extreme 59? I have both I use the super Extreme for the rear and the extreme 59 for the front to frame I bought the extreme 59 back in 2019 at that time the extreme was the strongest U lock on the planet untill the altor SAF came out I was gonna get the D1000 but I saw that abus cameout with the extreme 2500! In cutting tests it outlasted the D1000.

Lost my bike that had one of those on it. The the Bordo alarm. It was parked under my window at the office and thought that would give me ntice so that I could rush downstairs. The technique they used is to grab a seat post from another bike to use as a lever and simply twist the lock until it breaks.

Clearly, this kind of lock/protection will only deter opportunistic thieves, but certainly not those who really intend to take the bike.

Useful advice! The other thing you're gonna need is a fan otherwise you won't last more than 10 min. You'll also need a towel and something to cover your frame if you sweat a lot.

I might have to cut my Abus chain because I lost the key. I'll have my son do the cutting, he's a super heavyweight international level powerlifter lol. He might be in sport where he won't get a lucrative Nike contract, but he comes in handy for things like this😂

Great demonstration

Some people managed to loosen the bolt on the copilot bike hinge so it turns on that. So the main bike seat is not twisted. I couldn't loosen that bolt at all but i loosened the 4 bolts on the attachment on the main bike (little bit so it's still safe enough) so the pilot bike turns around the main bike seat without moving the seat itself.

Poor review

My 2 bikes got stolen from home, 1 ebike and 1 mtb. I used long wire based lock, i know i know they can be cut with simple cutter, learned my lesson. I got into my car and roamed around vancouver, and was able to find my ebike lol. Still missing 1 i guess it's gone forever. Was going to buy this lock i thought let's do youtube search 1st. Guess i will go for u lock or something better. Thanks for the video.

Why?

Locks are for when you leave your bike alone while grocery shopping so someone just doesn’t jump on and leave unnoticed. If you leave your bike outside where someone can be alone with it for more than 10 minutes it’s gone, no matter the lock. I’m buying this lock because it works well enough, but I’m not stupid, ofc someone can break it if I let them.

If the speed reaches 30, do we get a fine or something like that?
