    Why've you got your saddle at least a couple of inches too low?

    • @eddierexfitness
      @eddierexfitness หลายเดือนก่อน

      How high should it be in relation to your height?

    • @AdeboFunkyVoodoo
      @AdeboFunkyVoodoo หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@eddierexfitness there are several ways to do it: The quickest, easiest and dirtiest is to set the height so that when your heel is on the pedal, there is only a very slight bend in your knee with the pedal at the lowest (6 o'clock) point. A slight bend being 5 degreesish (very slight). So when your ball of the foot is on the pedal axle (normal position), the extra angle created is comfortable but not so much as to be inefficient. I think you may need a lot of adjust, so I'd advise just raising the saddle a few mills use for a few rides. Raise a few Mills more, use for a few rides. That way it's not a massive change that feels unnatural and possibly uncomfortable. After a few adjustments, do the heel measurement technique and set the correct height. This rough method allows you to adjust up or down a few mills from that height, to find what feels right for you If your hip needs to rock to complete the stroke the saddles too high so move down a couple of Mills. You're also riding very knees out. For some people that's a functional restriction in their hips but it can also just be because your saddle is so low, you have to point your knees out to avoid being too cramped up and uncomfortable at the top of your pedal stroke. After you fully adjust the saddle, just watch out for any soreness in the hip. That might indicate that your flex/rotation is restricted there and you need to lower the saddle a little to allow the knees out a little. We are all built different but knees in is more efficient. More speed for the same effort, which means greater endurance overall. There are other methods but this one is all you need for recreational/fitness riding. No tape measures or maths required. Let me see if I can find a simple video for you... This one gives you the basic idea. th-cam.com/video/ppYdYVMEoXA/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

    I got a 25kg Surreal weighted vest for Xmas. The thing weighs a ton and I practically decapitated myself the first few times I attempted to put it on. During that process, and once your arms are above head, its like fighting with a wild animal! I have now reduced the weight to 15kg and will not be wearing it fully loaded for the foreseeable future. I perfected the technique of putting it on and taking it off over time and its no longer an issue for me. I am not sure there is one particular preferred method for doing this. You just have to experiment until you find a way thats easiest and most optimal for you I walk around 15,000 steps a day and was initially unable to do more than a couple of thousand of these with the vest on. The only time I dont use the vest now is if I am somewhere it would be inappropriate to do so. I am 60 and used to walk 3mph with the vest off which slowed to 2ish mph with vest on when I first got it. i can now complete the vast majority of my steps at 3mph with the vest on and feel like I could just take off and fly when I first remove it following a walk. . Atrophy and natural muscle wastage is a real problem when you reach my age and the vest is beneficial in so many ways...1/ burns extra calories over non weighted walk 2/helps with overall posture and balance 3/ constantly works your core when you move, whether you are out on a long walk or pottering about at home 4/ strengthens your bones and skeletal structure. There really is nothing not to like about a weighted vest. They can be a little uncomfortable so getting one with good protection and padding on the shoulders is essential. I am far more toned and have lost about 6 lbs since January. I suspect I have lost considerably more than 6 lbs of fat, which is offset by the fact I have inevitably gained some muscle. Its a very effective and stealthy way of adding to your workout. Dont sleep on this. Just get yourself a vest if you are in two minds. You will not regret it

      what vest did you buy? do you think i could wear it under my shirt or would that hurt

    • @byrong1561
      @byrong1561 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mathmatics_O My vest is made by a company called Surreal but they are all much of a muchness as far as I can tell. There is no way you could wear something like this under a shirt as it’s simply too bulky If it was a very light vest (eg 10 kgs or less ) it’s possible it could be worn inside a large coat like a loose fitting sweatshirt or something, but it would look odd imho, A light vest would look a lot like a body warmer from a distance and has similar dimensions, Heavier vests are naturally more bully and you tend to look more like a suicide bomber or the Michelin Man. Expect to pay something between 80 and 100 quid for a decent one. There are also a lot of used ones available on eBay for half that price but many are sold without weights which are obviously expensive to ship. Based on ,my recommendations, a couple of my friends have brought used vests on eBay. One was purchased without weights and my mate filled it up by removing the weights from his ankle weights and putting them in the vest. The other friend ordered one of the few listing available with the weights included, but he had to pay a fixed £20 shipping cost as part the purchase.

      @@byrong1561 thank you so much for the information! I found a vest that is meant for runners on Amazon that distributes the weight evenly around the body and I am going to try it out. Have a great day!

    • @byrong1561
      @byrong1561 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Mathmatics_O You are most welcome. No need to be a macho man, so if the vest feels heavy and uncomfortable to begin with and the weights are removable, dont feel ashamed if you need to remove some of the weights at the beginning when you are still getting used to having it on. Running vests tend to be more comfortable and a little lighter than vests intended for walking in, but there is not much difference. Its a very effective way of adding to your workouts in a stealthy kind of way and I am sure you will not regret the purchase. All the best.

    What is a good weight to start with? I’m a big guy and weigh about 215. I’ve been 250+ for about 15ish years but I’ve recently lost all that weight. So I would have no problem packing on at least like 30 pounds of awaited vest or am I just overthinking it and 30 pounds is a lot for a weighted vest
