David is underrated despite great popularity because his role in this character is so complex, especially in the dimension of playing the rock star from the movie. It really blew my mind as a kid because I'd gone to see the movie before seeing these appearances to promote the record. Still does. Radical stuff. He's the rock star who's already committed suicide by the time he performs this. Of course all this is kept amazingly normal too by David himself who easily answers the question 'Who are you?'. Such a down to Earth Plaistow boy who has never been pretentious. Couldnt admire him more. Amazing talent

LOL the p^ssy monster and milkman sketch are excellent, there should be more comedy like this! Not the bland politically correct dribblers we get on most middle of the road shows like mock the week and the rest, just typical, this series got banned and the last episode not even shown on telly, same happened to bo selecta. You are only allowed to laugh if big brother thinks it is funny? We all equally, like a laugh but some of us, are more equal than others in the comedy department.

The was a squat community in Bonnington Square and Vauxhall Grove in the 80s where I and my friends found ourselves staying a few times, playing gigs, etc., with people living there. I recall one of my bandmates saying he stayed there one night and members of Crass were there and people gathered specifically to watch a repeat of this on TV at the time.

Stayed in Vauxhall a couple times. Lots of mad types and late nights, the "Wine Box" was a good space for a gig. Happy days.

@@willtricks9432 Yeah, if that was the bar in the corner of the square, we played a gig there once, apparently with Flux of Pink Indians, though I don't recall that. Also I was in there on a few occasions. The SF band Crucifix and their tour, and staying there, was the first thing that brought me to the place, plus Matt lived there for a while afterwards. I'm pretty sure I was in that bar early hours of the morning that very first night of being there, guitarist Drew climbing in the rafters.

@@willtricks9432 Yeah, that was the house I stayed in first time too, though I think already then an Irish actor called Joe lived in that cellar. David Tibet was living in the attic room of the house next door by then, I think. I slept on the floor in that room once, looking at his Tibetan chant albums and TG brass penises the next morning. Annie was always friendly and funny. I stayed in one or the other of those houses (I guess more the other one, in fact) on several occasions. They kind of functioned as one house, those two houses. Annie lived on the left, but was often in the kitchen in the right hand house, Tibet lived in one, then the other. Steve Ignorant lived there a little while, and also I remember him sleeping in each house. Crucifix slept in that left hand one, but Matt lived in the one on the right. A girl called Tracy lived there too. A long time ago now. And others came and went. And I guess climbing the rafters in that bar was natural. And Drew was the kind of person to do it. And, sadly, 2 days ago was the 10th anniversary of his suicide, which you can strangely enough now read about in the book by Madeline Pendleton 'I survived capitalism and all I got was this lousy t-shirt'.

he did say 'plonker' (Liverpool gritty wit ..I mean come on.. Jeremy Ratter? what kind of a name is that?) and so the seed was sown of Jeremy's/Penny's anger and mistrust of establishment promoted showbiz and so called pop 'acts'. Crass visited New York but probably after death of John Lennon? Mother & Working Class Hero by Lennon is not far off from Crass anyway... there doesnt seem to be much about what Lennon thought of 'punk' is there? They certainly were. The Beatles sent cultural shockwaves all around the world that still reverberate even today.
