Johnny Macs Pizzeria in Lakeland!
Syracuse is trash. It has the highest child poverty rate in the country, the lowest GDP growth in the country, and the highest taxes as percentage of home value in the country. This is not even including the weather and the fact that is a magnet for S** offenders and drug offenders recently paroled.
Baldwinsville is overpriced. Manlius is disgusting, traffic choked, and has people hit your car for insurance money and the police are in on it. Liverpool is a dump with trashy restaurants that are front businesses. North Syracuse and Cicero are probably the only decent suburbs, but they are about 3 by 4 miles and the area quickly degrades into slums. There are problems with burglary and car theft leeching out of the City, which has the highest rate of child poverty in the country.
Syracuse is dangerous...I moved outside the city. Its safe but it blows...don't move here. Yes the houses are cheap but they are all run down and almost all of them are over 100 years old. Micron Jobs will be very competitive. There are already so many unemployed people in this area that don't expect anything
I also grew up in Syracuse, and in my opinion, it’s not worth it for anyone and their future. I grew up in the inner city, west side. And in my youth I wasn’t as knowing and understanding to my surroundings. But as time and age move forward I realize how much there wasn’t. And how bad and untrusting Syracuse truly was. In the end I was able to get out, and for anyone reading this who is from Syracuse, I suggest you do the same. Also, winters in Syracuse have allowed me to adapt to any winter anywhere.
And that’s the problem….a lot of people don’t understand our way of life and so New York turns into one big special education classroom with everyone having the iq of a small puppy
what is your way of life? being miserable and suspicious all the time? People are what make the state bad
If only the NY would allow road construction at night to help manage traffic like other states/areas. Good news is this plan makes a lot of sense.
Nice video! 🙂 One of the things that I find surprising about Syracuse / North Country is how there's this inferiority complex by comparing itself to New York City. While Syracuse has a big problem with snow and the cold, a snowblower and a heated jacket can help a lot with that. 😄 As hard as I tried, I couldn't fix the problems I was having in NYC and it was getting worse. So, I left. Not to Syracuse, but I didn't realize the potential. I had that NYC mindset. I saw the annual snowfall numbers of update New York and looked elsewhere. NYC has also seen some really bad snow storms, but they get really bad hurricanes too. So, I think Syracuse actually has a slight weather advantage. Snow can be fun! Irene, Sandy, that was not fun! Housing affordability in NYC is a much _MUCH_ larger problem. For years I was looking for a detached house near my NYC / NYC Metro Area jobs, even searching up to 75 miles away, but the solution always seemed just out of reach. As my career advanced, housing prices advanced even more. Meanwhile, the commute was brutal. While the ferry was kinda fun, the rest was grueling. The public transportation is barely usable. To go from Staten Island to Manhattan could easily take over 90 minutes - *ONE WAY!* So when I see stories like this, about how Syracuse could be revitalized, that's awesome! 🤩 Syracuse kinda reminds me of Brooklyn / Staten Island, but without a lot of the headaches. I suppose you could debate if the Interstate 81 project is good or bad, but I think that discussion has way more optimistic potential than debating the merits congestion pricing. NYC is an amazing city. There is more to do in NYC. But what's better in NYC compared to owning your own home and starting your own family?
What are your thoughts for college students who attend syracuse? Coming from a high school senior.
It's a dump ...depressing....
The corridor needs a lrt and busway to replace the viaduct traffic load.
It’s highly unlikely I’d personally regard Central NY winters as any bad thing. Big snowstorms can turn a one night family visit into several nights like with cousins!
well lets see, the Economy is terrible .. the people are mostly miserable, they keep polluting the lake & the northside has crept itself into the all sides ... The Mall is dying, a whole bunch of stores closed down. This city was ranked one of the Poorest cities to live in Last Year & aint Nothing gotten any better, if anything Much worse. While this place Boomed in the Victorian era, it has LONG since died ...
finally some honesty
Yea but building an aquarium will make it better😂😅
The winters are shrinking in Syracuse, I have shoveled 4 times in the last 2 years, comparing Syracuse to NYC for anything is absurd.
I agree, the winters have definitely shrunk and we don’t get the lake effect like we used to! I can tell you I’ve shoveled more than 4 times the last two years, we’re always due for a couple storms per year. And I don’t think comparing Syracuse to NYC is absurd by any means, people looking to relocate to New York evaluate a lot of factors when deciding on a city to move in, so I’m trying to help them weigh those. Thanks for your comment Christopher!
@@LivinginSyracuseNYWRyan Comparing Syracuse to NYC is like comparing Mount Marcy to Mount Everest... its definitely absurd.

Helpful video! Can you describe allergy season(s) in Syracuse and does it bother you? thanks
Hello! Personally I have never had issues with allergies. But one thing I do know is that the pollen levels tend to sky rocket in the spring/summer seasons, which tends to give a lot of people troubles. Additionally, when the weather begins to change from warm to cold (around this time of year), it causes a lot of people to get sick. Let me know if you want to discuss more. Are you thinking of moving to Syracuse? Thank you for the comment :)

DO NOT COME HERE, ITS A SH*T HOLE.... if you come here, I promise you'll regret it. Though if you vote democrat, please come see what your policies do & stay out of the south.
It's time for you to move. Why are you still here? BTW, 1.01% is NOT 1.1%. Due to climate change, snowfall totals in Syracuse are decreasing. Due to climate change, snowfall totals in Buffalo are skyrocketing because Lake Erie is staying so warm. Rochester's snowfall total is increasing for the same reason. Property taxes in Syracuse are no higher than anywhere else in NYS. Syracuse is a quiet place to live. NYC is so noisy I don't understand how anyone can sleep at night. Syracuse has 3 excellent hospitals. Upstate Medical University is not only a teaching hospital, it is also a regional healthcare mecca with a childrens' hospital, renowned cancer center, broad research base, and so much more. Syracuse has 3 universities. 1 is a community college, 1 an upper division State University College, SUNY COLLEGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND FORESTRY, and 2 private upper division colleges, Syracuse University and LeMoyne College. Micron is moving in. Micron, an enormous microchip manufacturer, will employ such a large number of people that it is projected that the population of the tricounty area will double within 10 years. The employment opportunities at Micron plus those at existing and new businesses that will be formed to support the employees and their families will be amazing. There is already tremendous demand for homes in the tricounty area in anticipation of this population growth and houses stay on the market for record short durations, making Syracuse, NY one of the hottest Real Estate markets in the entire U.S. Syracuse is blessed with an abundance of natural resources and beauty, including a stunning 4 changing seasons climate. The city has numerous gorgeous, beautifully maintained parks and tree lined streets. Micron chose Syracuse as the site for its new facility for many reasons including a thriving night life and entertainment culture, with many restaurants offering a selection of international cuisines. You may have lived here your entire life but you do not have a very good grasp of the big picture of what Syracuse is really all about.
Hi Susan! Thank you for your feedback. I truly agree with you on a lot of the points you touched on. I mainly made this video to spread awareness of things in an every day life in Syracuse that people may not be aware of when considering to move here. I’m truly excited as to where Syracuse could progress in the future, especially with Micron coming in and opening the door to more tech companies to expand to Syracuse. Maybe check out my other 2 videos, they touch more on the positives of the city. I will also be posting a video on Micron in the coming days. Thank you for your well thought out and in depth comment. I appreciate it. :)
My favorite part is butternut street. Who needs Disney when butter 🧈 🥜 provides all the entertainment even the police sit on the side lines just for entertainment…Syracuse loves to invite homeless folks check out every street corner in downtown area just stay in your car 🚗 The city has gone down hill. No one buys property IN Syracuse most folks who want a decent place to live buy outside of town but not IN syracuse the north side is as bad as the south side and the west side. My buddy who lives on the east side got cleaned out while he was at work and to break in they fed his pitbull a 🥩 😂yes your home will not be protected with a guard dog. 🐩 . You can live OUTSIDE of Syracuse but if you work downtown or head to armory square or Clinton square for a festival then yea it’s a good place to live outside of the city. As far as COST all good towns outside of Syracuse are very pricey and there is no available real estate 🏡 unless you are willing to pay a lot more than the actual value of the property it’s a sellers market. If you ever visit Syracuse don’t forget to stroll 🧈 🥜 street it will be a fun experience more like a jug or a run😂
yes... butternut street .... lets take a walk right through meth ally ... *rolls eyes*
I prefer down by the Rescue Mission
Let's not forget that the average home price indicated are in areas that are in disrepair. I'm moving here in a few months and I've yet to find a decent modern home for under $400,000. Now apartments are actually very reasonable. The realtors I'm working with is stating that the housing market is going up because of the new industries that are coming in. So get in while you can! Also, bring some heavy winter gear. You're going to need it! 🤣
You know.....maybe you are aware of things that I'm not. I'll email you when I get to work later on today.

Good effort man. Id say, stick to the truth and don’t try to lead people. Capture the audiences attention where they are. For example, this Syracuse neighborhood has a new restaurant or coffee shop opening, how do I know, why I’m the local realtor, I hear the in on all things in this neighborhood. Notice it’s not leading and drives engagement and attention elsewhere, yet also plants a seed of awareness.
