I didnt watch the whole video but after about 2 mins id just say a hidden/sneaky fuel pump shut off or ignition kill switch and a gps locator that has its own standby battery wired hardwired and hidden somewhere would take care of most attempts. If you really wanted to get into it you could go under the hood and dissconect part of the wiring harness when you leave it out in public.

I bought a Faraday box and keep my fobs for both my 99 C5 Hardtop and my Lexus ES300 in it. The box prevents the fob signals from being retrieved/transmitted.

I had same problem on my 2015 z07 after 6 years of HPDE days. took to dealer, good tech I know him, and it was a $7k rear diff replacement. It had a 2 year GM warrantee that ran out in June of this year. The replacement diff fluid was changed annually given track usage and sooner than recommended by GM. I drove it for two years, same level of track usage, and it failed 3 mos after warrantee ran out. I had a couple of horrendous spins 4 wheels off at 70 mph including one at low speed 40 mph at apex and got the check rear axel light. No evidence of any problems before that including my instructor driving it way faster than me. ( glad it didn’t happen to him) Even though it was only 3 mos out of warrantee, they would not fix it under warrantee. We checked all the codes and modules which checked out fine, plus all busses, battery, frame grounds and found nothing. But there was metal in the fluid and we are waiting for testing results on that. Same thing that happened on the original diff when I bought it new that required the above diff replacement. Other track guys tested it on street recently and found it to be sketchy ON THE STREET. No codes, errors, e diff guage show normal operation. We did NOT check the Alternator, so this is an excellent post. I will test soon and see what that does if its overcharging.

Very cool. Personally I found the best way to roll race the auto is by putting it into M, and then as soon as I hit the gas i immediately switch back to D. This allows the car to upshift by itself without needing me to operate the paddles and try to nail the shifts with the terrible delays on the A8.

When my c7 was stolen then recovered by police bc the lojack was transmitting. Police told me they recover exotics of every make and model. Thieves can steel any vehicle. You need layers of anti theft so the thieves move on to another target.

Great video, good information. I live in Vegas and have a 2014 z51 and it was stolen last year. I recovered within 4 hours because thieves were not able to disengage my lojack. I now have Drone Mobile XC system that works great. I have covered the obd port and lastly, I have put an old fashioned bar on the steering wheel as a deterrent. Layers of theft deterrent are the key. Its a dirty feeling when your baby gets stolen.

Thank you for this video. My older brother just brought himself a beautiful 2016 Chevrolet Corvette with the Z51 package with very low mileage. I definitely will send this video to him. I definitely told him to put a steering and brake lock on his vehicle. He parked it inside his garage as soon as he returned home. He got his Camaro 2SS stolen right in front of his home early in the morning when he was sleep, thief cloned his key.

I don’t get how you wouldn’t pay $29 to potentially locate your car immediately (if OnStar not cut) and potentially have it shut down immediately (if it were moving). You decided to wait around for another option for a few hours burning precious time. $29 potentially worth so much more since your car is $70K, and is a business for you. I fail to see the logic in this decision 🙄

Another prevention is to get a manual transmission 😉
