lloris is a better starting keeper than barthez . vieira is a starting 11 player and adds more to the teams overall quality than kopa (you don´t need 3 creative CMs-AMs in your center (that would be a disaster in terms of defense) and zidane is a must for france , but you do need at least one solid DM in your midfield) ...

Great XI, and even though Marius Trésor or Manuel Amoros could be in it I think you are right to take the 1998 defense as it was. But I'd put Griezmann instead of Kopa and Benzema instead of Fontaine cuz even though they were both great in their time I don't think player from the 50s can compare with modern players. And I'd also put Kanté instead of Vieira, personal preference but Vieira is also a great choice.
