MUkraine week 150: Viktoriia Medvied (Scotland): Ukrainian Children's Literature on War. Vic Medvied (Viktoriia Medvied) is a PhD student at the University of St Andrews, Scotland, UK, where she is part of the School of Modern Languages in the Creative Writing program. A dedicated children's author, literature promoter, and creator of the podcast Knizhki v Torbi / Книжки в торбі (Books in a Bag). Vic is also a book reviewer for Chytomo, a conferences chairperson, and an active book volunteer. Her work is deeply rooted in fostering a love for literature and exploring its cultural significance.
She will talk about: "Stories of Resilience: Ukrainian Children's Literature on War (2014-2024)." She will delve into how Ukrainian authors have addressed the complexities of war for young readers, highlighting the evolving narratives over a decade of conflict and their impact on a new generation.
