It's a piece of black lightning ridge opal that SEEMS to be hiding rich saturated color underneath a paper thin layer of black potch. It's time to bite the bullet and find out if this is a valuable stone, or a flop!! IG: @daisy_opals Website: www.daisyopals.com Email: DaisyOpals@gmail.com

Really informative and fun! TYVM 🔥🔥
Bless you camera person
Thankyou for video. Your approach to something new and as a beginner is precisely what I needed. Ty Sir. Have great day.
Good basics on silver melts . New sub brother. Very good tips on the how to's. Glass like glaze perfect. Thanks for sharing with us. 😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
Hah weird random cat
rip felix :( my best friend
cheers, informative
Poor mans crucible $50 dollars that’s not cheap
Why do you need to mold the silver. You can hammer it once it cools in the cruiciable. Soxs are not safe.
I use uv resin to dop my opal
Love the comedy vibe but get that life gets in the way hey
Steve
I'm just getting into them after getting a custom-made ring, and then I found this fascinating channel.
Get the old barbecue grill and set the crucible on the burner, keeps it hot from below. Then glaze the crucible well, so when you melt the silver it is slippery. Set the mould on the other burner and heat it too.. then pour while still keeping the flame on the silver in one swift pour... I've made many loaf style little 1/2 ounce silver bars that way (weigh your silver before pouring to get it right, be generous) and they were very popular on Ebay... not do many nowadays, but it was fun, and you can get a good price for your bars.
Nice video! Your cautious approach is the way to go, but can be time consuming. I was trying to "make" the rough into some type of fossil, but I failed. Coprolite? I highly doubt it, but if that is what you wanted to sell it as, some people would buy it. I found your video while looking for information about Brazilian matrix opal. As with most Brazilian "specialty" opals, there is absolutely no information available - at least in English! dp
Hello Don!!!! Thanks for watching. I messaged you on instagram! You da man!!
I think if someone wants an ecologically viable opal that is more resilient to everyday wear and tear the only way to go is with the man made opal. Natural opal is delicate and not recommended for everyday wear. I have both and a boulder opal ring and they are all lovely.
What's the difference between lab created and natural. When talking diamonds, they are the same other than how they were created. Synthetic is actually fake compared to lab created. Input please. Would like to know the difference. Also truly fake fake opals and how to tell if glass. Plastic is obvious. I think I have fake glass opals, but my app says opal.
🤣🤣🤪 ol'boy in his prison slides. Don't want to be to careful. 😂
Another hack here ...
I like how your calling it not a real opal... when in fact it very much is a very real opal.. it's just man made. Just like diamonds... man made diamonds are still diamonds. Will still scratch everything known to man.. It's real though
We got a silver 3.5 pound cookie out of a blow torch melted in my friends house , no gloves and first time oh n no borax 😅
Ethiopian opals may not be as durable as other types, but they can be stunning and have many beautiful patterns. It seems to me that this person did not know much about the Ethiopian opals at the point he made the video.
Most flash I've seen in moonstone!
“Don’t use stuff like this” * claps with mittens * 😂😂 that gave me the confidence I needed
This video is a delight!
Thanks for the help, you’re editing is so funny, love it
The syn ring compared to the sbtb ring looks better imo
Ps... any haven't i seen you before!! *subscribes
A bit late for me to weigh in on this one, but it looked as though there was enough material to split the opal through the colour bar and make 2! Then you could dice the upper and on one, dice the lower sand in the other
Jones Mark Martin Kevin Anderson Larry
Tbf, lab created/synthesized opals are real opals, just like lab created diamonds are real diamonds. Also, THAT Brazilian opal was higher quality than THAT Ethiopian opal, but there are some exquisitely stunning Ethiopian opals out there.
Keep heat on all the time you fool.😮
He got me.
Love you to man thanks for all the info ! Finally Bought my kit been wanting to start making jewelry for a while, Trying to do my research before jumping in haha
Fake opal looks like it's almost made up of that clear stuff they use for molds... With holo flakes throughout it. Which is why it stays consistent with the pattern... Rather than. Almost like an Aurora Borealis... Flowing, almost like strokes from an artists paintbrush... Or the rivers flowing downstream... Thank you, man.
I GET IT NOW 🤯 IT TOOK ME 25 YEARS LONG TO UNDERSTAND 😂😂😂
I’m right where you were when you did this video, only I’m using sanding drums. I haven’t invested in a set of Nova Points. Good vid!!!!
great fun video! Glad to see you reached over 1k subs! add one more to the list! I just bought a bunch of this stuff and am excited to try doing a sand or plaster casting to make a ring from a wax cut out. Loved the video and great to learn from your mistakes. haha! thanks!
Lots of mis-information here!
This Is dangerous stuff take it seriously, ima wear slides with socks while I heat up this silver. Always wear PPE Ya big dummy.
What year followers are going to be mad at you bro gold and silver when you temper them they are opposite of steel iron heat up gold silver immediately clinched makes them soft let cool down slowly make some hard
Learned the hard way , read everything ❤
I love Opal and have a few pieces and only been sad once but I put them in resin ❤
One thing that you should do is have up to 4 times as much as you expect use for most jewelry items.
You are supposed to use borax to treat your mold for silver and other metals.
All that safety and does it in his socks 😂
Oh you mean like how I cut opal 😂 don’t worry it’s just common opal
Are the socks and sandals part of the safety protocol
Maybe know what you are doing B4 making an instructional video.
965 love the info koooollll🎉
