One of the Best! Original ❤
❤this!!
Aesop Rock and Yo La Tengo is a spacetime collapse hyperdrive bullshit of my musical tastes. Algorithm needs to step back cuz I'm cornered and stressing.
This is on par for me with the time Colbert hosted Talib Kweli on Colbert Report - he or someone on his staff who has stuck with him probably has dope taste in hip-hop
Stephen Colbert Gave Me AIDS.
Legit af
Been listening to Aesop rock since his first lp float on mush records and I always new he was one of the most talented mc’s ever but back then I never thought it would have enough mainstream appeal to make it this big but here he is live on the late show !!! Respect 🫡
He's made it. Not that he ever needed to be on tv to be the untouchable, but it feels good.
Why didn't he mention Rob Sonic up there?
This dude's a lyricsl genius
I just realized. Is that Bobby!?!?!
Goddamn the live band really makes it jazzy
AES is dope, Colbert is a hack shill
Wtf!! I didn’t expect Yo La Tengo in this performance. My favorite band with one of my favorite rappers. Aesop know what’s up .. obviously
I remember when Aesop was making stuff in my parents basement in NYC with My brother Blockhead. I can say I knew him when.
you freaking dorks
I feel sorry for the audience... They'll recognise when it's too late🙉🙈🙊l
"You fuckin' dorks ain't a source of the art You can't be cooler than the corners Where you source all your parts"
i think thats my friend DJ Zone lol
imagine the crowd getting iced by this nutty ass innovative hip hop
fav mc of all time but i dont watch tv and did not know Aes was on national bom boom lets go
Filthy
Goddamn. AES is a legend.
I remember watching this when it aired and being so disappointed by the dude parroting the whole thing. Really pulled the focus off the depth of the lyrics if you ask me
Putting Aesop Rock on the show was the best thing that little douche colbert ever did.
Aes is your Favorite Rappers' Favorite Rapper.
"you fricken' dorks" killed me - fuckin television...
No way!
There has to be a large part of the crowd that has no idea what they are listening to...it likely sounds like a different language to them? Aesop is his own dimension, no comparison.
NOBODY in that crowd understood a single word of what that lyrical genius said. Even US, the true Aesop fans of 20 years +, can't catch everything on the 1st listen. I think that's a huge part of the beauty of his tracks. You can listen to them forever and keep picking new things up. Can't think of another artist that does this as well as he does. ICON
Aesop Rock will be studied in 100 years.
The fuckin GOAT
If the "industry" were true to the culture, Aes would have blown up after this national exposure. DON'T let them DUMB you DOWN!!! 🐐
He doesn't need Mainstream's help, he's got it all by himself
Man I"m shattered he doesn't tour anymore.
South Minneapolis
BooDork
This song is already a banger . This here!this was fuckin amazing to see Live!
Perfect song for a perfect audience
The way Colbert ran by Aesop tho lol
"Chop your ivory tower down to make piano keys, play your own dirge on the way to surf at maggot beach" crazy lol
Jesus Christ, Aes is my fav, but questionable bringing this absolutely terrible drummer and bassist.
It's crazy he didn't blow up after this nationally televised spotlight. It's like, even when he waters down his lyrics (like 2Pac), people still aren't catching on until later...
Love Aesop but i appreciate his shit more while i read along with the lyrics. Live aint the same when the lyrics are so deep. You almost need time to process it.
"I been doin this longer than you been interested"
7 years ago! Time flies
The crowd obviously does not realize what they're witnessing.
Float Muthafucka! ❤
Jimmy Fallon sneaking on to the Colbert Show
1:56 The madness and genius in Aes' eyes!!
Really? Had no clue this happened
The undeground has been keeping hiphop alive for ages! Rock's a legend
