I am actually impressed with how well the camera handled the low light as the sun had already set even though the video makes it look otherwise. HDR video should show up when TH-cam processes it

My confidence was low and the trail was tough in the wet. The camera doesn’t really capture the steepness or how narrow some of the sections are.

Jayride has been a great teacher, showing us how to ride dirt bikes. Now, with his own Stark, we get to witness the bikes’ capabilities while he teaches us. My son’s commentary is funny as hell. He says, “My butt hurts, and I am covered in sweat,” and there are a few other great sound bites from home. So, make sure to watch the entire video.

Jeff, this is one of my favorite videos I've seen you do to date, I don't know if it is the camera, the trail, or you riding Dwelling, but it's kind of reflecting the old camcorder ride with the ebike ride where you said lots of caffeine or something like that. For me, this is the EXACT video that should inspire anyone interested in mountain biking especially Blankets, great job man, and hope you didn't hit the tree with the hand! Also around 6:20 that's a weird wet spot I don't know if I've seen that wet before, well done Jeff!
@@Mtbdrumrunner thanks, what’s funny is my wife asked me how my ride was and I said okay but never felt in the flow. Funny how after watching the floor looked fine.
@ you're welcome sir, could be the conditions and or the runner 👍
You and your perfect damn camera angle haha! Nice to see a few leaves let you see some dirt, that intro was thick, your description is my mountain bike motto, great video Jeff!👍
LOL, thanks. It’s funny I don’t even think about the angle now it’s just a reflex setup these days.
@ I know that's the problem that I don't have!
That's steep as hell! You definitely do gnarlier stuff on the mountain bike but hell, a dirt bike would scare me more in that situation, cool insight and video!!👍
Yeah it’s weird how I doubt myself on it
@ soon you'll be riding it like highway to hell on your mountain bike... insanely crazy!
Perfect fall foliage, looks like a great way to spend the day!
See how much better it looks when YOU do it?!! haha! That's such a cool angle when people are behind you, awesome shot Jeff! That's one of the best looking shots I've seen!
@@Mtbdrumrunner thanks, the X4 records in 8k which makes a huge difference when reframing the shots so you get a 4k image instead of the 1080 of the GoPro max and the X3.
@ yeah man you're welcome doss an excellent job 👍!
You're flying dude, even though you "didn't pop it"... footage is damn good especially for low light, is this the Insta, or a new addition to the Murch Cam Catalog?
@@Mtbdrumrunner insta360 X4, got a killer deal on it and ride with it the first time yesterday. Can’t wait to use it in good lighting so I can use the 8K settings
@ that's awesome man, congrats on the new addition, 8k should be sweet, that's gotta be the best section to test footage 👍
@ thanks man it really captures what it feels like riding instead of the regular cameras that tend to make things feel slower
@ you're welcome and we'll said I completely agree
Doesn't look slow to me man! That midair pass, wow! And the 5:00 jump, man that looked like a huck to flat, excellent job though, they look big and I can imagine how much bigger they really are👍 Hope he's ok and recovered!
Thanks, yeah the pass in the air was so cool to experience. Right he gopro affect makes these look smaller than they are in person. He is okay, his back just locked up.
@ yeah man you're welcome! Glad he's ok 👍
Holy hell dude, I can't believe he saved that! That looked like a promise you don't want to keep, freaking quality is unreal, I can never tell if you have the wide lens on or not, it's just Jeff Font!
@@Mtbdrumrunner Standard lens was one
Nice job Jeff, 21:9 in the fall... cinematic, which lens are using here?
@@Mtbdrumrunner normal lens
@ thanks! I got the 12, used max superview in 16:9, I didn't know 4:3 is the only way to get actual superview, then max hyperview. I'm mixed, but I need to do more testing, it was a tad shaky, maybe I should use Labs Firmware. Did you use it on the 12 or 13? Thanks!
@ Something doesn’t sound right, you should have Hyperview, superview, etc in 16x9.
@ hyperview works, I can get max superview from it, but recording with the lens mod 2 in 16:9 slightly wider than wide, max superview recorded in 4:3 works, it's bizarre
Holy shit that looks awesome, you are flying!
Thanks
Nice! Chill until 1:30 ✊ this is cool as hell, sometimes nothing beats a chill ride, unless you are on a chill ride, take a break and watch Jeff chill on VMT! Thanks for sharing man, looks great...back to Sope Creek for now sir👍
@@Mtbdrumrunner in all my years riding here I have yet to ride there
@@murchman0 I remember you saying that in the Blankets lot, Donnie's never been either, it's kinda nostalgia for me, early 90s days, arm etc. Some of the old sections make area 51 look like child's play, but Blankets and Rope imo set the bar for anywhere.
Damn that's slick!
I don't know how I missed this, great footage, love the commentary wondering what the other side was saying!

@@Mtbdrumrunner same as I have been running, 4k HDR Log, 30 fps, hypersmooth no boost, WB 5500k, high bit rate, 10 bit color. Under visor mount is really key.
@@murchman0 it looks awesome, like everything else but it blew me away with the clarity... you know the way 👍
@@Mtbdrumrunner thanks man, went back to the ultra wide lens today and now I’m not sure if I really like it versus the normal lens here.
@@murchman0 you're welcome! They are completely different, seems the normal lens captures the quality, and the ultra wide lens captures the smoother motion fov, you can't go wrong either way 👍
Oh I'm not on a mountain bike! Definitely not boring, he's carrying serious speed on those straights into the jumps! Cool deer race, great video, is this the Max lens/FOV? Awesome job!
@@Mtbdrumrunner Yeah he was flowing pretty good. No lens added just standard GoPro Hero 12 Black.
@@murchman0 looks awesome as the riding 👍
I get what you're saying now, this pops and the lens captures way more, 60fps looks buttery smooth, great job on... Whatever settings you got iso shutter ev etc, perfect balance! 👍
@@Mtbdrumrunner WB 5500k, ev-.5, iso auto, vivid color, 10 bit color, medium sharpness.
@@murchman0 thanks man! I should try auto iso, I'm running the maximum shutter angle script, usually 90 or 180, helps with hypersmooth a lot unless it's twilight, thanks again!

Definitely looks like a tighter tougher trail, great job!
comment montrer la différence entre 60 et 30 fps si la vidéo youtube est en 60 fps?
When a video contains both 30 FPS and 60 FPS footage, TH-cam encodes the whole video at 60 FPS. However, the 30 FPS sections are still shown at their original frame rate with duplicated frames to match the 60 FPS format. This means you can still see the visual difference between the smoother 60 FPS footage and the original 30 FPS, despite the entire video being labeled as 60 FPS
Damn Jeff, you were cruising! Great job on VMT and no hands on Hamilton Hop ✊ it looks like hyperview? Was it in camera or post? You have a great angle on this, HDR looks great, they both do just different. Thanks for sharing another video of the 13! 👍
Funny I felt slow on that ride as there was a lot of head winds with the storm. No hands riding is a key practice technique to improve your riding as it teaching you to steer the bike with your hips and not your arms. Yes, it was the Hyperview lens option set in camera, didn't really change anything in post.
the important question is: Are the uploads to GoPro's cloud servers really faster with the 13?
@@TooMuchBike honestly I don’t think so and even ran into an issue doing it that had never happened before. I received an error on the 13 telling me it was stopping charging as it was too hot during the cloud sync. Once it finished uploading to the cloud it then finished charging
My first thought on this was you riding back with the hero black 3 or 4? but...the trail looked exact in terrain here. in my eyes watching this, I see the riding captured more accurately. For what it's worth, this clip above will inspire for the better more people to ride like it did for me
@@Mtbdrumrunner interesting, what made it feel like an older camera?
@@murchman0 damn man that's supposed to say your riding. The Fov seems more preserved with exceptional smoothness, it looks amazing. The reference to the older camera was how well you captured a mountain bike FOV before the cropping days of stabilization, this reminded me of that.
@@Mtbdrumrunner it has to do with it shot in the 1:1 format using the wide angle lens. When I set the frame to 16x9 after it was shot it didn’t distort the image like it nominate does to fit the 4:3 image to 16:9.
@@murchman0 thanks Jeff, appreciate it. I look up to you and others like Donnie for riding and video inspiration, I'll delete my original comment if you like. It's outstanding quality, I think I followed what you were saying. I'm strapping lights at Fightingtown and had a bad signal earlier so thank you the response 🙏
@@Mtbdrumrunner no way your comments were spot on and why I post the pretty raw videos. No hype, no bias just how the cameras work for how I use them.
Yeah this looks damn good, the color detail in the trees and rocks just pop. The Hero 13 will be interesting, but I think for anything GoPro, the 12 with the Max lens 2.0 is the way to go. This insta does it so well. Awesome video!
