Sandy Pond was sunny and very pleasant on Christmas Day. It was almost warm in the sun despite a temperature of about 22 degrees. Sandy Pond is noted for it's beautiful sunsets when the sun settles down west of the sand dunes on the barrier beach that separates Sandy Pond from Lake Ontario. This is a non-rush video to enjoy the pristine beauty of these sensational and memorable sunsets.

Sent a drone up 400 feet to view the eclipse over Sandy Pond. The video shows the light fading out (with the video accelerated) but I didn't have the battery power to see it come back. The drone proceeds towards Eddie's Cove and the south shore of Sandy Pond. On the way back to South Pond we take a brief look back at the area we covered. Have posted videos of the Cape Vincent Tibbetts Point Lighthouse, Rock Island, The Narrows, Mary Island, Boldt Castle, Alex Bay, 1000 Island Bridge, too mention a few. Have passed through those bays but haven't stopped for aerial videos. Perhaps next year.

For example, if anyone wants to use my video for use like on a newscast I cannot charge them if I approve that use. I would have to have an FAA approved license and would be considered commercial to charge for the use of a video.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I flew an ultralight airplane and took aerial photos of them installing that break wall about the 1980's.
@@phoebesnow6986 I remember watching it being built from the shore. Really changed things and certainly made things safer. I had some harrowing canoe trips entering the Salmon River from the lake.

Name of drone used?
I have a number of pricey DJI drones but for this video I used the FIMI X8SE 2022 drone. The long flying range, level 8 wind resistance and excellent video is astounding for the price. Banggood has it on sale for just $285 today (July 4th). Don't be fooled by the low price - it is superb and I paid much more for mine last year. Fimi is a product of the well known Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi (pronounced Show Me). They are big into phones, computers, 4k cameras like DJI's Osmo and doing well with their drones too.

It frustrated me when they started doing this. The opening was fine until they started dredging. What's upsetting is that with all the run of this year the opening should have been done after being left alone last year.
Phoebe, ALL of your drone footage is done really well. I enjoy watching them all. I have a home on the sand about 2 miles north of Southwick Beach State Park. I know my neighbors and I would love to see you capture that section from the air. Let me know if you need access.

@@SeaBoss-xi2ki I drove in to the end of that area, the very last house, maybe on Littlefield Pl, and flew towards Black Pond when the ship relics washed ashore.
