Ronin is presumably king because: 1) Sink or swim convert MDEF to MATK (And using full Mdef% gear swap for snapshot) 2) High uptime of big CD via other jobs helping with CD Reduction (convert self to Angel race) 3) Status vulnerability (WSA and later content MVP can have status applied) 4) Favourable elemental dmg type (Fire/Holy dmg) You will always need a holgre to counter that 90% ref. dmg reduc, which provides up to 3 times more dmg (90% ref. dmg reduc -> 70%) Magic class has no remedy for ref. mdmg reduc, so they will simply never be top DPS in tower, until dev adds ref. mdmg reduc debuff Khalitzburg is almost a must as well for the 2x30% dmg increase debuff (Doom + Bleed Status vulnerability she shares with party) When they release new blessing with Elemental/Dmg reduc Pierce, other jobs will see big improvement in Tower due to it having such high reductions, maybe when that happens we will start to see some other jobs as DPS, but it's difficult to gauge.
