In this video, I teach how to fix a door that rubs and won't close all the way by sanding it down. I used a Black + Decker corded sander and course grit sand paper. Then I finished up the job by painting the rubbed off place. It was an easy fix but so satisfying since the door had been rubbing for a long time! I hope you find this video helpful!

Related Trivia: Crescent is a "Trademarked Generic" like Dumpster, Xerox, Kleenex, etc - Crescent's design for their adjustable wrenches was so perfect that the brand name quickly became synonymous for the tool itself. The 'flaw' of the design is that, in order to function easily, there's just the tiniest bit of play in the lower (adjustable) jaw - this means that the torque from turning a nut/bolt with the wrench has a greater impact on the lower jaw. Torque is a matter of force multiplied by the distance from the point of rotation which, in the case of an adjustable wrench, is where the screw contacts the teeth of the lower jaw. In addition to using an adjustable wrench with the lower jaw leading the direction of rotation, best practice is to adjust the wrench to fit the nut/bolt closer to the mouth of the jaw (as seen in the video) but to slide it deeper (but not quite touching the back of the jaw) before applying force. Not only does this minimize the torque applied to the lower jaw (which could damage it) but it also maximizes the leverage from the force you apply to the handle, making stubborn bolts/nuts easier to turn.

@@ryanetotherescue I bought the router itself from Amazon. I also purchased the edge guide, battery and vacuum attachment, all separately, from Amazon as well. Having no experience in using a router, I went through several pieces of scrap wood in learning how to use it. I did notice that the operator must put positive pressure on the machine and also ensure that it is perfectly level with the wood, especially when doing edge routing. I first used the round over bit and noticed that I was making some “ugly” cuts but quickly figured out what I was doing wrong…Thanks again!

When you took the blade off, you talked about putting that back on and tightening it, but in my manual it’s not about tightening it, but a different position. Up being for through cutting and down, being for non-through cutting. Would love to hear your thoughts on this or a link to where you might have already done this. Thanks in advance!
