Off Roading Fun With The Tacoma
Visit us for lists of gear at eastcoastoffroading.com
When you first get an off-road truck, taking the family out for an off-roading adventure might not be the first thing that comes to mind. Initially, you're probably focused on getting familiar with your new truck-learning how it handles on different terrains, testing its capabilities, and maybe even making some modifications to suit your needs. However, once you’ve gained some confidence and experience behind the wheel, taking the family along for an off-road trip should definitely be on your list of things to do.
Off-roading with the family is more than just an exciting drive through rugged landscapes; it’s an opportunity to create lasting memories together. The thrill of navigating challenging trails, the beauty of remote locations, and the shared experience of overcoming obstacles can bring everyone closer together. Plus, off-roading doesn’t have to be a standalone activity. You can easily combine it with a family camping trip, setting up camp in a serene, off-the-beaten-path location that most people wouldn’t be able to reach without a capable vehicle.
Imagine the fun of exploring new places during the day and then unwinding by the campfire at night, sharing stories under the stars. These are the kind of adventures that your family will talk about for years to come. So once you’re comfortable with your truck, consider taking it on a family off-roading trip. It’s a great way to bond, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors together.

@@Dusdaddy it doesn’t matter how much torque that wheel was receiving, the fact that it was spinning without pulling the vehicle ahead means that there really wasn’t much stress on it. Yes, it happened on one vehicle that was being filmed that we know of, could be many more cases that happened off camera. There’s also this one other Tacoma that was being filmed, that blew the clutch during a down shift. The frame by frame shots show that the engine never exceeded 4000 rpm. Toyota’s claim was that he accidentally shifted into 1’st, instead of 3rd, yet the frame by frame photo’s don’t support that, and most manual equipped vehicles come with a safeguard to prevent that from happening.

And you can bet if anyone else did it, they would go to the dealer where it would be reported. As for the Pro with the manual, I can easily see it being a blown shift. Can't prove otherwise. Trucks are great but your explanation makes zero sense. Tacos are awesome but I’d take a 4Runner over a taco. And I’d take a Land Cruiser over anything

That’s true that a 4runner and Land Cruiser are better offroad vehicles but i needed to haul a camper. That’s why i got the taco

Brother I’ve seen SUVs pulling bigger campers. Trucks are great and definitely are a better fit for outdoor activities. but SUVs put in the work just as well.

Yeah but for a bigger camper you need the longer wheel base to keep the truck from swaying on the highway
